The dealer is bringing the truck back in. Something about too much torque through the axle and they are replacing the axle with a new system they developed...I wonder what it will be this time?
At this point I'm not sure if this is "add" related or not, but I do not have confidence in Toyota.
What a rollercoaster! The dealer called and said they were wrong. It's actually the front timing cover that's leaking onto the diff.
At this point I don't think I believe them because the oil smelled like gear oil and I'm curious if they're trying to skirt around the lemon law.
I'm not entirely sure, but it was about a month ago that the diff was replaced. At the time it was the "first in the country" with a cracked diff according to the dealer, but the truck is a '25.
They've had the truck for a week now for a leak from the front diff. I suspect they are replacing it...
Fwiw I have a friend with a 4th gen. Her diff has already "cracked" and been replaced under warranty.
I noticed what I thought was diff oil on the driveway after she was parked yesterday. Going to inspect tomorrow, but I hope it's not a second diff.
