@Andrace
Hi Andrace! Very useful post!
Could you please share what in the full Bilstein lineup are you looking out to get? Is there any other difference (besides the color) in the UCA Red (Pro), Bronze (TH), vs the Silver that came in the OEM kit! Thank you!
I went through the crazy instructions document on the bajadesigns website for this light and it's more work than installing 9" front hella lights.
I would contact bajadesigns for the issue that you are facing as they claim these lights to be compatible with 4G Tacoma and they need to provide a...
4G autobox is super reliable (yes there were initial problems) and trans fluid change is not a big deal. Do it every 30,000 miles and will last longer than enough.
if the 2 ECU talk to each other, there is a possibility that there is a feature flag in the code of the main ECU that is set based on the stabilizer bar being installed at the factory or not. imagine seeing an error message flash on the screen or an OBD code that stabilizer is not detected /...
what makes you believe that SBD ECU and the main ECU talk to each other? I know one popular aftermarket manufacturer is already working on a 4G solution.
@turnermier i did some research and the "Instrument Panel Wiring Harness" is separate from the "Wire, Floor". the SDM switch is on the "Instrument Panel Wiring Harness" which should be same for non-SDM and SDM Tacomas.
The "Wire, Floor" is the harness that has the connector for the SDM ECU and...
Hi @turnermier . great research.
can you find out what is this part doing in a 2020 4runner?
https://www.toyotapartsdeal.com/oem/toyota~computer~stabilizer~89271-60031.html
the part number for 2024-2025 Tacoma with SDM is also 89271A.
Somebody said the way Tacoma 4G is designed it will be really easy to add an aftermarket sway bar (disconnect). So somebody will probably come out with a nice one in 1-2 years.
https://www.theautopian.com/a-disconnecting-front-sway-bar-for-a-new-land-cruiser-costs-almost-as-much-as-an-old-land-cruiser/
an article on this topic. look at Ford's spare pricing.
https://halo-performance.com/product/honda-talon-electronic-sway-bar-disconnect/
the part should not cost $6500. Toyota is being a jerk trying to sell more TRD PROs.
