I have been wanting a better solution for securing cargo in the bed that doesn't involve messing around with long ratchet straps and having to wind them back up and store them under the back seat. It's a small problem to have but it still drove me nuts having to fumble with straps for minor trips to the hardware store.

These Mabett rail-mounted retractable ratchet straps are the perfect solution.

The equipment seems to be high quality. The mounting plates are thick and sturdy; the ratcheting mechanism works great and has an automatic retract feature, which is fantastic and keeps everything clean.

They offer 2 mounting points as well as the option to mount these right side up or upside down which gives a lot of flexibility, and they fit perfectly under my flush bed cover with plenty of room to spare.

I also like that the metal frame for the straps has hook points on either side to help with securing cargo.

Installation was a breeze; it took all of 10 minutes.

These aren't intended to hold heavy cargo necessarily but they seem like they will be great for lumber, plants, totes, sports equipment, etc.

Is that a Rough Country low profile cover? It looks like mine and I was wondering if these straps would fit .

It's a Tyger T4 - same as a Bakflip MX4. I would suspect any cover that uses the T slots for its mounts would clear these straps.

They're fixed. If I had to make a complaint it would be that they don't slide and don't rotate.

Actually they are fixed to the rails and there is no rotation over there.
