Just rounding out to 4500km on the odo now and lately I am noticing the bite point has changed or seemingly changed and it is higher. Overall the bite point feels like, my leg muscle memory for the first 4000km has had to change a bit as my previous clutch engagement pedal stance gets me going very slow (almost not enough to get out of a parking space) and I have to take the pedal higher to the bite point.

Anyone else noticing this or have a high bite point? This is my first manual but I can't imagine there is any way I could have destroyed the clutch and burnt it this much already? I drive very deliberately and smooth, I rarely rev past 3K rpm.

Also I notice that when the truck is off the clutch has a fair bit of slack or dead zone before it gets tension, not sure if that is related?

6mt owner here, mine has been essentially the same for about 6500 miles. It was a little bit grabby for the first thousand miles but now it's pretty good.

I wonder if you just need yours to be adjusted.

The bite point in general Is extreamly high on these trucks. I had a moment like you where I felt like the bite was much higher than I remembered. As stupid as it is, a change in shoes was my issue. The bite is so high up normally a little change in Sole thickness was enough to throw me off for a bit. If there is something wrong or loose with your clutch (Which like you I don’t think would happen at 3000 ish miles) I wish you the best. But in the meantime try moving your seat back one click, It worked for me.

yeah, funny you mention that but I noticed it as well in the past. When I wear my newer shoes that have thicker soles the whole truck feels different shifting, I didn't think much of it.

Yesterday I wore slides as I just needed to go grab a quick bite (I try to avoid driving MT in sandals) but the feel of the clutch was completely different and felt better. Bite point was still high but not unnaturally high? Felt right. With my more worn shoes it just feels like there is a huge dead zone. So I went and looked at the bottom of those shoes and sure enough there is a clutch pedal shaped worn spot in my left shoe... I was planning on throwing them out anyway soon but that might actually be it.
