Hello all!

This is my first black vehicle. Did a thorough washing yesterday and then proceeded to start applying Groit's 3 in 1 Ceramic liquid wax to half the hood of the truck. Mine you I have used this wax on a pearl white Rav4 we used to have and had no issues. But it left some blotches and streaks on the hood. So I took 303 spray wax and that took them off. It was cloudy and overcast and was close to starting to rain so I didn't try anymore Groit's and just did 303 spray wax. I have heard amazing things about this product. But was a little bummed when my picky ___ didn't get the results I was looking for. Any ideas what I may have been doing incorrectly or tip for next time I attempt to apply Groit's?

Thanks much!

I've got a (lot more forgiving) Silver truck but I just used it a few weeks ago and got great results.
I did a lot of research before prepping and applying. Here was my process (Truck's paint was in pretty good condition, I didn't have any other wax on it.
  1. Wash & dry
  2. Clay bar
  3. Panel Prep Spray (Gteqniq)
  4. Groits 3 in 1
I worked in fairly small sections. Hood might have been 3 sections, fenders 2, etc.

I had 2 rags. My apply rag, and my buff/remove rag. I sprayed the product on, wiped it with the apply rag and nearly immediately buffed it off.

Once my apply rag was too saturated I'd discard it, and get another rag, rotating my removal rag to my apply rag and use the new one for removal.

I went through about 6 rags.

The next day I did another layer.
