Side mirrors film?

Why and what is this film on the side view mirrors? It slows down the defrost/defogging in morning. Is this a shipping thing I can remove? Thank you

Took it off both side mirrors....much better. Probably going to take off the hood and fenders too. Can cause paint fade issues as truck ages.
