We discuss key points with the chief engineer regarding the brand-new 2024 Toyota Tacoma. This truck borrows many improvements from the Tundra and Sequoia yet keeps the old-school charm alive. The glance at the spec sheet shows the 1700lb payload on the hybrid model, but that should (according to the Tundra spec sheet) weigh 550-600lb more than the conventional. If weight for the standard truck stayed about the same, that would mean close to 5000lb curb weight for the hybrid, and a a 6700lb GVW for that max payload. Doesn't sound right.
