Hey everyone,

We are Golden Coast Overlanders, a small engineering studio based out of Southern California, and we are stoked to officially join Tacoma4G as a Sponsor.

If you’ve been following our thread over in the exterior mods section, you already know the story. Tailgate theft on the new 4th Gens is spiking, especially out here in SoCal. There are already some solid, budget-friendly brackets out there that absolutely get the job done if you're looking for a quick fix. However, we wanted to engineer a zero-compromise, premium billet alternative that compliments the level of quality of high-end rigs like the TRD PRO or Trailhunter.

After 28 design variations and weeks of dialing in the CNC paths, Batch 001 is officially live and shipping.

The G.C.O. N400 Tailgate Anchor System:

  • Material: CNC-machined in-house from solid 6061-T6 corrosion-resistant Billet Aluminum.
  • Proven Security: We utilize some of the best locks on the market. Every unit integrates directly with a premium, German-engineered Abus padlock.
  • Tamper-Proof: Includes 18-8 stainless steel security Torx bolts and hardware for the tailgate hinges on both sides, as well as the passenger taillight, to further prevent thieves from bypassing the bracket.
Pricing & Forum Launch Discount: MSRP for the complete kit is $185. Because we are officially kicking off our sponsorship with you guys, for the first week use the code TACOMA4G at checkout to take 10% off your order.

Massive thanks to everyone who has already supported us, debated metallurgy with us, and given us feedback. Let us know if you have any questions about the specs! 🍻

A picture of the hardware in use would help me decide if this is something I would consider.

@k1m You are completely right to ask for that. That is entirely on me for not including installed photos in the initial drop.

Between the chaos of getting Batch 001 packed up and an unexpected trip to the eye doctor today, I got a bit behind the curve on processing our install shots.

I just went ahead and updated the main post at the top of this thread with three marked-up photos so you can see exactly how the N400 system integrates with the truck.

(I don’t have dedicated close-ups of the driver and passenger Security Torx hinge bolts installed just yet, but I will snap those and update the thread as soon as I can).

Thanks again for calling that out and keeping us on point! Let me know if you have any questions looking at the new diagrams.

Nice piece of kit. I'd be highly interested if I didn't already install a Bobbercycles kit

Appreciate the kind words man! Bobbercycles makes a solid kit to get the job done. If you ever decide to switch to a full billet system down the road, you know where to find us. We designed ours to add a few extra layers of defense—specifically requiring the taillight to be removed for disassembly, and securing the tailgate-side hinges so thieves can't just unbolt the tailgate itself and leave the brackets behind. 🤙🏼

I appreciate the additional photos. I attempted to use the promo code, in both upper and lower case letters and it is not working. I am sorry, not trying to be difficult.

Not difficult at all man, we actually really appreciate the heads up!

I just jumped into the backend and got the code updated, so the issue should be completely resolved now.

Give it another shot and let me know if you run into any other friction at checkout. 🤙🏼

@k1m Hey man, just circling back to make sure that promo code finally went through for you after we reset it on the backend? Let me know if it's still giving you any trouble and I can manually apply it for you!

Also, just a quick update for the rest of the thread If you guys are intrested to see some behind-the-scenes shop stuff or customer install videos as they start hitting peoples rigs, we're posting all of that new content over on our IG @GoldenCoastOverlanders . Have a good weekend everyone. 🤙🏼

Not at the moment, unfortunately.

The (power open close tailgates) actually use a larger diameter hinge cup from the factory.

I machined this current billet anchor to have a tight-tolerance fit specifically around the smaller, non-powered hinge cups.

I am actively working on the design for a larger diameter version to support the power gates though.

I'll definitely update this thread as soon as I have it ready!. 🤙🏼
