Hi Everyone,
I want to install a winch and aftermarket steel bumper, but I was wondering how the Trailhunter stock suspension handles the extra weight.
I currently have 35-inch tires installed, and it's a tight fit. Would adding the extra weight up front cause the nose to dip and possibly...
New update:
I hit a few more technical obstacles. Steep hill with deep moguls.
The front-drive side rubbed against the crash pad. I will be removing it.
The rear is rubbing as well, which I didn't expect. There are small bumps in the plastic wheel liner that extend about an inch at the...
I got the wheels and tires off Facebook marketplace from separate individuals.
Wheels brand new in box for $1000
Tires 6000 miles with 16/32 tread for $800
Sorry for the late reply; I didn't go out yesterday due to the rain here in SoCal. When out today and did some easy - moderate trails. In a few areas, I was fully flexed out and made it a point to steer lock to lock, with no rubbing.
When angled just right, the clearance between the tire and...
Nope, still have about a half inch of clearance even at lock. No rubbing on the road, but not sure if it's enough to clear when off-road. I will test that this weekend.
Everything is good now. I rerouted the sway bar disconnect wire above the frame and removed that bracket. I have no rubbing full lock forward and reverse even when hitting bumps and the brakes.
I will hit the trails this weekend and see how it does off-road flexed out 🤞
That makes sense, 295-70-18 is 34.3 inch diameter. Im using 35x11.5R17 Falken WildPeaks AT4W.
Lessons learned: If you have a disconnecting swaybar, be prepared to reroute the wire over the frame and remove the bracket with tires larger than 34.5 inch.
Agree, positive offset pulls the rim in closer to the frame, but in my case, using a lower offset, "+20" would not prevent the rubbing. The bracket is rubbing against the center of the tire, not the edge. I would need to push the wheel out a lot further than I would want to clear it that way...
I have not taken on a trail yet. I installed them last night. It only lightly rubs when at full lock and II hit a dip. I was driving around parking and intentionally ran over a dip at full lock to test clearance.
I will be looking to reroute it over the frame like FlyAngler suggested.
That's exactly what I was thinking of doing after removing the wheel and the bracket to find out what it even is. It's coming from the swaybar disconnect mechanism goes under the frame, then routes between the body. This bracket holds it against the frame and tries to protect it from rocks, I...
I just installed Method 703s 17x8.5 +35 offset with Falken Wildpeaks AT4W 35x11.5 R17. The driver's side tire is rubbing on a bracket when at full lock, and I hit a dip or press the brakes hard. Has anyone experienced this, and what was your solution?
Are the ones with the lift kit for the TRD Pro /Trailhunter?
I had to replace my passenger side mirror assembly and need to calibrate. Wondering if it's any different?
