I think Dobinson is giving very inconsistent answers depending on who you talk to. I can def confirm that their springs work on the OME suspension both front and rear. I have the 820 in the front and 819 in the rear on my TH and it drives great. The shop I had them installed by even confirmed...
I know they have different options for the tunes, which one did you get? I think i remember reading there is a base and then an enhanced version or something.
I thought I had a slight vibration between 30-40 on my TH. It was the tires. Its gone now that I have Toyo 35" tires. Not sure about other models but the tires coming with the tock THs have lots of balance issues. If you look them up on Tire Rack all the comments are people not being able to...
Did the OTT tune help with mileage at all? Very interested on your thoughts for that OTT tune, I'm really considering it. How much was it and did you take it to one of their "tuners" or did you do it yourself?
So here is what I ended up going with:
Method 703 black 17" +35 offset
Toyo Open Country A/T III 35x12.5 C load ~35psi (still playing around with psi)
Dobinson 820 front springs
Dobinson 819 rear springs
Tire poke is the same as stock, come right to the edge of the TH fenders. Slight rake...
Got some quick pics while i was unloading my fishing gear. The kayak only weighs about 50lbs right there, everything else is out of the bed so that's the normal ride height without being loaded up on gear.
Love that bumper, following to see the progress and what you end up doing with suspension. I will say I have dobsinsons springs on my trailhunter, 820 in the front and 819 in the rear. Truck feels so much better with them. If you go that route i would DEF get the 822 up front, the 820 springs...
I'll get some better pics, I was in the same boat where I felt like the trialhunter wheels were sort of what set it apart and didn't want to get rid of them. There are definitely limited options for 18" wheels when it comes to load rating and that's what made me finally switch over to the...
I just swapped the trailhunter wheels for 17" Method 703s and did Toyo Open Country AT3s in 35x12.5. They are 60lbs each in C load, couldn't be happier with the results. They are super quiet, i can't hear them at all and no vibration at all. So far I'm noticing about 1 MPG dip after a few...
I really like this, very clean looking. Does the port cover basically just pop off after the modification? Seems like it would be hard to pull off though, like it would be hard to grab a hold of unless i'm missing something.
Hey guys!
Looking to put in a decked system into my Trailhunter long bed. To anyone running this setup, what did you do about your air compressor? Did you make modifications for it? Can you post up some pics?
Need some ideas on different options to get a clean install and still keep full...
From what I hear the needle bearing eventually has issues if the CV angle changes from a lift. It's apparently a known thing.
I was thinking about doing the same thing at the same time i upgrade to Dobinson springs as a preventative measure. Watching to see if anyone else shares any...
