I'll get some better pics, I was in the same boat where I felt like the trialhunter wheels were sort of what set it apart and didn't want to get rid of them. There are definitely limited options for 18" wheels when it comes to load rating and that's what made me finally switch over to the...
I just swapped the trailhunter wheels for 17" Method 703s and did Toyo Open Country AT3s in 35x12.5. They are 60lbs each in C load, couldn't be happier with the results. They are super quiet, i can't hear them at all and no vibration at all. So far I'm noticing about 1 MPG dip after a few...
I really like this, very clean looking. Does the port cover basically just pop off after the modification? Seems like it would be hard to pull off though, like it would be hard to grab a hold of unless i'm missing something.
Hey guys!
Looking to put in a decked system into my Trailhunter long bed. To anyone running this setup, what did you do about your air compressor? Did you make modifications for it? Can you post up some pics?
Need some ideas on different options to get a clean install and still keep full...
From what I hear the needle bearing eventually has issues if the CV angle changes from a lift. It's apparently a known thing.
I was thinking about doing the same thing at the same time i upgrade to Dobinson springs as a preventative measure. Watching to see if anyone else shares any...
Looking to pull the trigger on 35" Toyo Open Country AT IIIs (C Load). Deciding between RRW wheels at 25mm and Methods at 35mm.
Wanted to see if anyone had experiences with these on a Trailhunter and if any rubbing occurred on either offset. From what I'm seeing 35mm should be fine, wondering...
I was going to switch out the needle bearing on the driver side with the east coast gear supply sleeve bushing when putting in the Dobinson springs as a preventative measure on my Trailhunter.
But now that I ran into this post - maybe they are different and I shouldn't order it and wait to see...
Anyone know of a place in the general area of Harford County Maryland to get some parts installed? Looking to do a few upgrades to my trailhunter like wheels and tires, upgrading the old man emu springs to dobinsons, westcott rock sliders, and replacing the needle bearing in the driver side CV...
FYI I did get some emails back from dobinsons, I discussed with them the extra weight in the trailhunter from the hybrid batteries, skid plates, oem sliders, and in my case the long bed. They suggested either the 819 or the 821 based on carrying 250 to potentially 500lbs.
They confirmed that...
Out of curiosity, when you talked to Dobinsons was the extra weight of the trailhunter brought into consideration on what spring you should get? I know the trailhunter is about 800lbs heavier overall, wondering if that's what they suggested going so stiff and why it worked so well for you...
Based on what others said gave me another idea, something that angles the rods from the bottom of the bed to above the tailgate for the 7ft rods. 7ft 1 piece is the most common.
Honestly even having a mounting option you could change out from bed rails to something else would be nice. I would...
How may miles a day are you driving having to fill up every 1-2 days? I mainly do all city/around town driving, basically all stop and go, and i'm getting 16.1mpg in my long bed Trailhunter.
I'm getting about 260 miles a tank roughly without doing exact math and just guessing off what the...
Two things:
A easy built in way to lock the rods. Often find that whatever solution I find to hold rods either doesn't lock at all or it's a pain to lock and unlock.
It needs different options if using the rails. I have a bedrack on my truck (most probably do). An option that goes above the...
The AT4W in the C load has the duraspec sidewall but not the HD duraspec sidewall that the E load has. Do you think the C load AT4W would basically be the same experience you had on your E load ones, or do you think it would be better?
Was it this one?

Any opinions on Toyo Open Country A/T IIIs in LT285/75/R17 with C Load rating?
I'm thinking C Load might be a good compromise and the A/T III is only 59lbs compared to the Wildpeak A/T4W at 67 in C load. Concerned that the A/T4W in C might be just as stiff as the E load. I know the E load in...
