I used to blow off the use of chains ... until I started using them. Now, I don't play in the snow without them. I use twisted-link chains on both my 4Runner and FJ40. I think the square link chains work well too. Which reminds me ... I need to get a second set for the front. A good selection...

Normally, I go to Sandia for service, and AmToy for parts. In this case, for some reason, I went to AmToy to have this resolved.

It works as designed. The swing-outs do not impact the proximity sensors at all. The only exception I had was when I put my Trasharoo on the spare tire. The straps drove my sensors nuts.
