I just had the new 1.2 version installed to replace the 1.1. A very welcomed refinement with significantly more low end torque. It feels like we took the training wheels off.
Damn! That looks and sounds amazing. I had a stereo put in as well but went with the groundshaker under the seat enclosure. Seeing this makes me wish I went this route, but still thrilled with the sound every time I get in the truck. But yeah, it was a shitload of money.
I am too, but I would have been just as happy with a heritage blue I think. Both will age quite well. Tiffany blue however, will not.
Be interesting to see if any new options make their way to the 26. Also curious to see if Toyota will let you option a 14" on an sr5 4runner now.
Groundshaker box + JL 10Tw3 installed
Bed rug + Smart Cap installed (had no plans to get it but paid $1500, how could I say no?)
m18 inflator absolutely rips
Installer was able buy a supplement for his scan tool to turn off the setting again (though I'm pretty sure it was always off...)
He also physically unplugged the microphones. You just pop the little cap off and it's right there with a plug in harness.
I would do it again in a heartbeat, fwiw.
Oh, and I went and took a look at the rear seat when in a down position. It's a very tight fit but it closes flush. I wanted to retain the OEM look, but it's completely useless now outside of aesthetics. That said, I still think it would look a lot...
I did have this installed! I'm absolutely floored by this setup, it sounds freaking incredible.
To answer your question, the installer used the groundshaker box linked above directly in the storage tray, no cutting. It seems to fit fine but I've pretty much kept the rear driver seat buttoned up...
Oh, I totally get that. I just think it's a backwards strategy in a sense. Why buy a pro if you could just wait a year and get that color for 20k less? I guess it's genius from Toyota in that it will sell more sport and off roads which is a much larger market than for TRD Pros.
I find it really weird that toyota will let you get the exclusive TRD pro color in a lower trim the following year. Don't get me wrong, as a lower tier trim buyer, it's great. I just think I would hate it if I were dropping for a pro.
knock on wood... my paint has been perfect. Im guessing they give terra a thick layer or something because I haven't seen any of the issues everyone talks about.
