I live in CA and the snow season is about to begin. Mountain roads to the ski resorts sometimes require snow chains and I am clueless whether I should get chains, cables or socks for my 2025 Tacoma OR. What are the pros and cons of each? Also, how will I know if the traction device I choose...
Wow!!! That terra taco looks amazing! Yet more proof that building for function always results in a bad ass looking rig. You just gave me some great ideas for my own taco.
Jo_Eats_Dirt, your rig is frick'n awesome too!
BREAKING NEWS: R4T is regearing 2024+ Tacomas!!! They mentioned this a few days ago on their YouTube chanel. See minutes 12:05 until the end.
In the description they mention they are doing 4.88s from Revolution Gears. I also called them to confirm and they said they are in fact performing...
Interesting. I have the exact same sound on my truck and I also have aftermarket skids and suspension. My Toyota dealership said it was coming from my suspension and that they couldn’t do anything about it since it’s not OEM. I’ve also noticed that when I go offroading the sound disappears but...
Looks great! Do you notice any difference in ride quality with the gearing provided by the portals? Also, can you post side and rear photos of your rig?
Very nice! Love your truck color too. I did a similar lift mod to my truck as well.
Did you change out your rear coils? You have good rear height given the weight of your rrt.
Interesting. I also have 8.5 wheels but with 285/75 R17 tires. At least for the ridge grapplers, the width difference is only about 0.24 inches (285/75 = 11.26 inches 11.26 vs. 285/70 = 11.50 inch). Not sure how you have more poke than my setup. Do you have a TRD Offroad trim? Do you have...
If you want to run 285/75 R17 ridge grapplers with some poke, I would personally buy some +12 or +0 offset wheels. You can see why in the videos below:
1. TRDJon used RRW 17x 8 wheels with a +12 offset. He shows just a little but noticeable amount of poke. See mins 0:41 - 2:32
2. Jeff at...
Thanks for the compliment! I'm just going to keep things as they are until I need to replace my tires in the future. I'll revisit the issue again then. For now, I've very satisfied. Can't wait to test my rig setup with my overlanding trip to the Grand Canyon next week.
