  1. First time towing a significant load

    Figure about 1,500 lb for an aluminum car hauler, 4,000 lb for the car, you'll be under your truck's 6,400 lb tow rating. Assuming good tires, properly inflated, and all-else is good to go, should do Ok. Let us know. I've not read of anybody else towing that heavy a load.
  2. Tested: Best All-Terrain A/T Tires in Snow & Ice

    Similar observation again this morning...we've been getting like an inch/day the past few days. This show was just now, another inch falling as we speak, enough to grease the roads. Using Nokians on the Q50 (RWD sedan) grabs better for this sort of stuff. Interestingly, my personal observation...
  3. Cool kids set their gauges style to Smart... what's your Meter Style choice?

    I cannot remember :). My wife's daily driver, it's been a couple days since I drove it last. Sporty, I think. However, I've a road trip in the near future, Detroit-San Antonio-Detroit, about 3,200 miles in 5 days. I suspect its going to be burned into my retinas like an old CRT by the time I...
  4. Goose Gear 60% Seat Delete - the good, the bad, the ugly.

    The access panels are fairly generous in terms of surface area. Unless there's something specific under the seat that needs attention, I probably wouldn’t go out of my way to remove the delete just for a routine maintenance visit. Just my 2¢.
  5. Goose Gear 60% Seat Delete - the good, the bad, the ugly.

    To help understand: * When did you receive your kit? * When you say "...don't have a single issue...' are you saying the version of instructions you received are 100% correct, the seat vent is unobstructed, all bolt holes in seat support frame had corresponding holes in the platform, and all...
  6. Goose Gear 60% Seat Delete - the good, the bad, the ugly.

    My order arrived first week of June. Zero changes made.
  7. First time towing a significant load

    Not enough detail to comment on. Type/weight of car, type/weight of trailer, likely terrain in that 1,000 miles. 'Light' and 'one car' can be widely interpreted :).
  8. Trailhunter in the snow - mountains of British Columbia

    I put the same tire, 275/70, on our TH. Have only been in snow with them twice now. Performed much better than I expected. After decades of running KO/KO2s on my vehicles, the Mickey's are at least as good. Was time to try something different. Thanks for sharing the video.
  9. What is the purpose of this sticker and QR code on a 2025 Trailhunter?

    It's a pfishing attempt. Click on the link and Toyota drains every penny in your bank account.
  10. Tested: Best All-Terrain A/T Tires in Snow & Ice

    Well, finally had some time in ~4" of snow and slush. With 6,400 miles on them, Mickey Thompson Baja Boss A/Ts did a good job. I expected a lot of slippage given their modest amount of siping. Didn't happen. I'll simply say they did better than I expected. I'll be interested to see how they do...
  11. JK->TH: Well, I'm Committed Now

    I enjoy hearing of your cont divide trip. Pics, how the truck did, non-truck experiences, be interested.
  12. JK->TH: Well, I'm Committed Now

    Transition from Stitch to Riddick (’25 TH Short Bed) Stitch is gone, though not without some sentiment. The new owner stops by this weekend—curious to see how he’s using it. TH vs. JKU: Real-World Impressions Without diving into specs, the TH delivers solid value—for drivers who’ll actually use...
  13. JK->TH: Well, I'm Committed Now

    Some of you may recall, my background includes over 10 years with Stitch, our Jeep Wrangler Rubicon (JK). We turned it into a capable overland vehicle. Stitch was clearly our dog's favorite, hands-down. As mileage climbed, and we needed more power for towing, we got Riddick, our '25 TH, in...

    Yep :). Glad someone else does it for me. Its an interesting, entertaining source of input while shopping/researching.
  15. Tested: Best All-Terrain A/T Tires in Snow & Ice

    It is a challenge. I doubt any of them are _bad_, per se. Bigger part of the challenge is needing a tire that does well in all conditions while, ideally, doing 'very' well in whatever condition applies most to one's own primary need. In southern Michigan, I'll have a series of 2-4" snows, in...
