Try turning the volume up when "she's" speaking.
I don't listen to music. I usually have an audiobook playing and it mutes when a message notification comes through. It may be the app you're using to listen to music.

I turned mine off after driving it with/without/with ESE. It doesn't come from the console. It comes from the speakers. All of them, and it sounds real.
It only comes on during acceleration. Here's an example in a Tundra:

I'm not sure the app has anything to do with the transfer of data. Your truck is connected with AT&T cell service. That's why I can start the truck a hundred yards away, using the app on my phone.
I wasn't going to, but I found starting the truck from the app was a great feature when the temperature was near 0Âş.
And, of course, that's easier on the engine, too.
I do it myself using rolls of 3M PPF from Amazon. I only do the forward-facing metal parts. I've done this on the last three Taco generations and find the plastic doesn't chip like the metal does.
