@tacorancher Just remembered that when I got my first oil change, the all around inspection included a pic of the engine air filter. Here it is after a weeklong camp trip under the redwoods in Big Sur. We drove through farm fields and mild dust storms to go there and back. Plus the truck was...
@lane47
When I get a chance Iāll get window film added to my truck to block UV. This keeps the interior cooler and slows the sunās damage to the dash and rest of the exposed surfaces.
I have not decided yet if I will get anything that darkens the windows since we go camping and we have to...
Thereās quite a bit of debate on that topic. Makes my head hurt.
Iāve watched lots of videos with folks who are pros and a few who measured with modern equipment.
If I were just commuting, I would stick with oiled, but with going into very dusty environments, I am just not sureā¦. maybe that...
For your additional filter, are you going to get another oil one or a paper one?
I am thinking of getting paper so I can compare performance as well as have the paper one for really really dusty conditions because I donāt think the oiled one always performs as well.
Update: found a video with the 4G Tacoma TRD Pro, which is the same as what is in the Trailhunter, just labeled differently for peacock purposes. This shows the filter removal process, but I would not follow his cleaning process. He cleaned his filter so early that he could not get the old red...
Thanks for the tip. Not too bad of a price. I put it on AutoShip for every six months, but Iāll step it up to every four if things get stinky sooner.
I think it is better to be safe than sorry. My guess is that your filter is plenty dirty enough to clean. I clean mine in the Integra a couple of times a year, usually coinciding with an oil change. Just checked out these videos. Based on my long-term experience with flat filters, I was glad to...
It was clipped but Iāve had the truck in for its break-in oil change at around 1K miles. The independent shop that I took it to did a full inspection with pics as a baseline. The tech removed the air filter and took a pic to show the amount of dirt, so had it open. I hadnāt opened it myself...
Would love to do a demo of the trailer cam systemāI will want the wifeās help. We need to attach it to the trailer. We have so far held it up to where we want to bolt it to a crossbar with t slots on the back of our trailer. Could be tomorrow or another day when we get to do this. We might need...
Itās the 4th clip thatās a mutha ā the one hardest to reach in the tight spot near the bottom of the box. Clipping it first is the way to go. Had to pull it since a human hand butt canāt fit, lol. Might need to press the lid on either side before clipping it in.
The system wonāt let me upload...
Those clips are finger busting pests in all our past and current cars and the truck. They were invented by sadists.
Some have an airbox that easily lifts away while the newer ones require a little wrestling to access the filter.
Picked up a ā25 Trailhunter Long Bed at the end of August when I could get a big discount on a top trim. This Tacoma drives and tows like a champ! The wife and I love to go camping and tow a Bean Trailer to either established campgrounds with pals or go to dispersed spots, hoping Bigfoot will...
Awesome! We (my wife) have a ā24 Subaru Outback Wilderness, which, if others donāt know is turbocharged. Wife has been building it out and put Pedal Commander on it, which has lessened the horrible shuddering when coming to a stop and when auto stop is either turning the motor on or off. It is...
We had WeatherTech liners in our former CR-V. They slid around and were hard to scrub clean. Went with LasFit liners on our ā24 Outback Wilderness and ā25 Trailhunter. The LasFits are a great fit front and back in both vehicles. They are easier to scrub clean too.
Since I couldnāt find anything in detailed specs either on the JBL premium audio, I had looked at what info I could find as an OEM replacement. I bought from this local to me company for another vehicle about 7 years ago to upgrade coaxial (door) speakers in a Honda. I remembered they were great...
