If it's Latex paint you can use rubbing alcohol (Lots of it!). Goo Gone or Paint thinner may work. Try it on a small piece first. I would pull the liner out first.

All, I found the workaround. You need to "Unlock" the truck from the remote first. Then you can open the tailgate without the engine shutting off. The engine only shuts off if the doors are still locked and you attempt to open the tailgate.
