When my warranty is up I'd be interested in a TCM adjustment to get the truck to downshift consistently into first below 10mph.
I just do it manually now with S mode, which is fine but it would be cool if it did it on it's own. Taking off in 2nd feels meh. I don't mind the somewhat jerky...
I noted this as well
https://www.tacomaworld.com/threads/transmission-cooler-anyone.869800/#post-30971142
I mentioned this in the other thread but the transmission seems to do a lot of slipping of the TC when it's cold. I believe this is to
A. Not substantially load the engine before the oil...
350H is A25A-FXS
The gasser model is T24A-FTS however, as well as the F Sport. Neither of those are eCVTs though.
The A25A is definitely made for thinner oil than the T24A-FTS.
I don't think OP did harm but I wouldn't be doing 10k OCI on 0w20 anyways. These engines are specced for thicker...
I ended up with the TRD M14x1.5 lug nut set:
But yeah any acorn style lug nuts will work
Mcgard makes the TRD set above and they're actually really nice quality
They sell these...
Since im not tryna jump in and out of the bed with my healing foot (broke 1 mo ago) i had my guys at Dynamic install my soft topper
they are not joking about the warm day for install fyi lol, but I'm gonna rock it in safari mode 99% of the time anyways
Not in the industry just have owned a few WRXs so I know too much about this stuff :cwl:
The Subaru community has gone through this same scenario a thousand times over and what you can and can't get away with has been well defined.
Also what is worthwhile and not worthwhile upgrading too...
Original turbo + aftermarket intercooler (and not tuned) = pass smog
Aftermarket intercooler and turbo = fail
and if you're tuned you'll fail immediately anyways
Intakes always need carb eo, charge pipes don't, turbo inlets don't
CARB says "hoses" will pass but if the tech sees a silicone...
these trucks are going to fail CA smog if your grille shutters are deleted and throwing a CEL
absolutely zero chance of passing smog with an aftermarket turbo
They will and do.
New gas turbo engines will absolutely knock themselves to death.
It's probably more likely than ever due to everyone going high compression + forced induction (T24A-FTS has a 11:1 compression ratio). That's a lot of squeeze before you add any boost.
Also the go-to super...
The only tank of 87 my truck ever had was when the dealership filled it up when I bought it.
Since tank 1 it's been on Top Tier 91.
No reason to not use the highest octane fuel you can in a turbo engine. Zero downsides, only upsides, better knock protection, and more power.
Your rods and...
Yeah 4x4 crew cab. I want sliders (no steps now, just bare rockers) but I'd need to look for springs if I'm going to add another 40lb per side towards the front of the truck.
I mean still. I felt when the aluminum CBI plates went on my truck. If they were steel I'd be shopping for springs. A whole bumper would definitely justify a respring.
My plates are only like 50lb total and it was absolutely noticable.
2TR-FE is probably the best Toyota engine made after 2000 aside from the 2UZ-FE and 2ZZ-GE.
I wish our trucks were 2TR-FE. I drive it like it has 180hp anyways.
V6s are a compromise layout. I wouldn't go out of my way to buy one unless it was the only choice.
2GR-FKS doesn't really belong in...
Interesting this implies the transmission thermostat only opens at 200F. Seems like anyone running a transmission cooler may be running their transmission too cold, below operating temp. So you'd have to set the thermostat on the transmission cooler to only open above 240F.
To be honest coming from sporty, stiff cars, trucks are not uncomfortable at all. And in a way they feel pretty familiar to a car on some tight coils :cwl: Not in a bad way, in my opinion. Like a tall, stiff car that will roll when pushed.
Also important to not forget that body on frame trucks have more NVH than unibody vehicles. You're relying on a few rubber cab mount bushings to make any engagement, shifting, and movement of the drivetrain more subtle. You've got an entire frame to resonate when stuff is clunky.
I personally...
