I’m still out on the cowl being the problem. Some of the 3rd gens had the same issue on the cowl. That is literally a rubber piece that isn’t sealed to the glass. Run a hose over that spot and show me water coming into the area in the engine bay and I may change my mind.
Just looked under the hood, I have the cowl defect. It is almost in line with that part in your photo. That part looks like cast iron. My truck only has 140 miles on it so could be a future problem. That defect looks like is only bulged at the top, the cowl looks flush below it..
Hub-centric preferred. I tend to like the Icon wheels best. I think SCS has some new bore sizes coming. Method is Method. RRW hybrid is really nice but the holes for a wheel guard look off. Has to be +25 offset. I’ve had Methods on my last 3 vehicles. What do you guys have or suggest?
Still sitting for another 2 weeks while I wait on PPF appointment. Ordered Dr. Colorchip kit for transport chips on rear spoiler. Scheduled PDR for a ding, also courtesy of transport. Truck rear must have been facing transport truck front.
I was looking at the factory delivered chips on the spoiler above my 3rd brake light and noticed there is a gap around the light, guessing it is sealed internally?
To me personally, nothing is what Toyota charges. That being said, I like the addition. It is a button on the lower left side near aux buttons. Mine comes on with the standard bed lighting. There may be other settings. You can drive with then on which would be helpful offroad.
I’m just posting here because you seem to be very organized at removing the layers and layers of trim. If you figure out how to remove the outlined silver piece, met me know. I’ve been playing Tetris in my head to figure out how to pull it.
No claim that it is normal. I just pointed it out and asked if the other trucks had the issue. I told him I was going to request a new one under warranty. No issues from the dealer.
The biggest issue will be finding a local dealer to fix it because I bough the truck 2 hours away.
