Fuse specs are sometimes conservative. You might test to see. Given that these trucks were engineered in a particular way... I tend to go with the flow. There are some blanks in the panel that you can wire in the way you want, or you can add an SPOD or SP9100 to add switches.
My RIGID bumper...
Red is still pretty bright but is certainly more "tactical" than white. I installed the Meso Cutom dome light and map lights. The courtesy lights are due out in Q4.
My UPTOP scene pods on my KILO rack are red for same reason... area around truck during night SAR missions. Other scene lights...
The research I have done suggests that a 17-inch wheel is preferred for offroading given the increase in sidewall. Some go to 35s and may require some lift or fender trimming to fit. I elected to stay with a 33-inch tire for a number of reasons.
I wanted to keep the speedometer pretty close...
Good news depending on your truck trim level. An OEM Trailhunter is 265/70R18. I am waiting on my Method 703s with the same Falken AT4Ws, 285/70R17.
Tire size comparison is only 0.03% difference, not 3% between these two tires. So at 60mph you are going 60.2 mph with the 285s.
Check it out...
My Trailhunter is being modified for SAR work. Just recalculated the estimated increased static load in front from bumper and winch - 235 lbs. Increased load in rear (Leitner rack, boxes, Decked with CargoGlide, rescue and personal gear, fluids, etc.) is 760.
I could use some expert advice on...
My CaliRaised bracket cleared the snorkel by a small amount, but did not touch or come close. It is solid so there is no problem in my opinion. Cannot speak to other brackets. Also, CR makes clear to use THEIR bolt to mount the light bracket onto the hood hinge bracket as the ones that come...
I think Cali said to wire to the fuse box under hood. Check with Cali. I have not wired mine in yet but I think that is what I was told...
While I have not wired them in yet, I installed the ditch lights and brackets along with a Redline strut kit. I posted the hood hinge bolts that I...
If anybody has a 2024 Tacoma non-hybrid, I accidentally ordered the WeatherTech 2d row floor mats. They will not fit my Trailhunter since it is a hybrid.
It costs as much as I paid to ship them back. So does anybody in the Seattle area want them?
18s are a nice tire. The Goodyear Terrains that came with my Trailhunter are not snow rated, and are not really optimal for more aggressive offroading which I do. They do look pretty nice and would be sufficient for car-camping type/light offroad usage in my opinion.
Just for discussion, if...
I don't know if this will help but I just grabbed the two pigtail bags that came with the Trailhunter.
1 Piece Package = PT948-35402. Card inside says Auxiliary Pigtails-Front
2 Piece Package = PT948-35450. Card inside says Auxiliary Pigtails. Contains a Jumper Pigtail (15A, 10A, 5A) and a...
Trailhunter stock hood hinge bolt is 8mm x 20mm. CaliRaisedLED Ditch Light bracket is 4.76mm thick; Redline Strut bracket is 3.38mm thick, for a total of 8.14mm. So a "corrected" bolt for my TH would need to be 28.14mm long.
I purchased longer bolts in both 8mm x 25mm and 8mm x 30mm with a...
