Yea these are my first rock sliders- I never put them on my 2004. I thought the same with mine- a little too close to step on easily.

This is exactly the thing. I don't have the time available to have parts CNC cut, spend all the time finding the right connectors, fiddling with how long and what wire, etc. I'll go for the pre-built solution. I'm glad I can make the time to install it.
