Take a look at VLEDS, I put the license plate frame with LEDs on my Sport and am very happy with the extra backup lights, brake lights and running lights. Super easy install if this meets your needs.

Sure no problem. When I got mine in October on ebay they offered red or black TRD letters, I was not crazy about the red either. I did add red tow hooks and I think just their splash of red with the black letters is a better look.

I have been using Griots Garage Ceramic Vinyl and Rubber Protectant. It seems to be keeping it black and the rubber soft. I live in Florida so intense sun. Had the truck since October and so far so good.

Sounds like your unit has a problem, mine has been working perfectly and I use it often living in a beach area and while in the garage. I would suggest to all that it gets used on battery from time to time to keep it fresh since some people may not use it often.
