Don’t appreciate being lumped into a group you refer to as “People who want to add unnecessary parts to their truck.” It’s a site for the exchange of ideas by people who enjoy their trucks. I come from a generation where we could swap an engine or jack up a rear end in the back yard. Well you...
Lifelong hockey player, one son played in college, now four of my grandchildren play. Many trips to Canada for tournaments over the years and pilgrimages to the Hockey HOF. Lots of love for my northern neighbors.
Take a look at VLEDS, I put the license plate frame with LEDs on my Sport and am very happy with the extra backup lights, brake lights and running lights. Super easy install if this meets your needs.
Sure no problem. When I got mine in October on ebay they offered red or black TRD letters, I was not crazy about the red either. I did add red tow hooks and I think just their splash of red with the black letters is a better look.
Mine does the same thing on the first shift. I live in Florida and even on a warm night the first shift is rough. I have gotten into the habit of taking it easy through the first shit then driving regularly. When at out PA home on a cold night it is only slightly worse, but not something I would...
Agree, this is not for hardcore rock sliding or real heavy off road. It is more than enough for trails, dirt roads, and highway protection without the weight of a heavy off road skid. Note that this does not fit on trucks with a cross member like the OR or Pro so people purchasing this will have...
Yes I purchased it on ebay, exact same one so check prices at both sites. Highly recommend. This plate is made for Tacos without a cross member like the Sport and Limited. If yours has the cross member like the OR or Pro it will not fit. Comes with all hardware, it’s a 15 minute install, all...
Retired too and enough disposable income to keep us happy. After 40 years together we have adopted a “don’t ask don’t tell” policy. If we want it and it makes us happy then go for it and don’t ask the other about cost.
Take a look at this plate. I have it on my Sport and it does not require a cross member like on the ORs and Pros. I am very happy with it! The guys seems to only sell on ebay, but that was no problem.
Fully agree! I bought some real aftermarket junk over the years and now leave the interior mods to the younger people and hardcore wheels and lifts to the OR crowd. However a few “necessary” mods to make it mine:
Hard bed cover
Bed mat
Bed step
Air dam off and add skid plate
Full size spare...
I started with a Canon AE-1 in 1980 and eventually upgraded to the Canon F1 with a bunch of FD lenses over the years. I caught the mirrorless bug in the beginning so went with Sony A7 series. I trimmed my lenes down to a 35mm, 24-70, 70-200, and 200-600. Zooms almost as good as primes now...
Welcome to the TRD Sport cult, sometimes the stepchildren of this site LOL with all the OR guys. I would suggest a skid plate for sure especially with the air dam removed. Although my truck is a highway princess with some ski mountain and beach runs, I had a rock kick up on the highway hard...
Yes it’s hard to find at the local auto parts stores. Even though most of the chains carry Griots products they don’t get this far into their line of goods. I have used Amazon, but if you check out the Griots site they often run specials and offer free shipping over a certain amount. I have only...
I have been using Griots Garage Ceramic Vinyl and Rubber Protectant. It seems to be keeping it black and the rubber soft. I live in Florida so intense sun. Had the truck since October and so far so good.
Tires look great and considering them for my Sport based on your photo! Any increase in road noise or impact to gas mileage compared to stock TRD Sport tires?
Sounds like your unit has a problem, mine has been working perfectly and I use it often living in a beach area and while in the garage. I would suggest to all that it gets used on battery from time to time to keep it fresh since some people may not use it often.
