I haven't found anyone that's given a definitive answer to whether or not the center pipe is worth it. If you end up not wanting the center pipe, I'd buy it off you since I've been wanting to try it out but haven't wanted to drop the money for a new one.
I'm not sure if it's possible on the dyno but it would be nice to see if there's a power difference in the daily driving RPM's. From what I've heard, most intakes make power at wide open throttle but not much of a difference for daily driving (the engine doesn't need the additional airflow at...
I'm excited to see your thoughts on the BP51's and how they perform on our forest service roads. So many suspension reviews on Youtube focus on desert performance but that's not the terrain around western Washington.
I went with the "sport" power level. I sit in a lot of traffic and didn't want the lights to be obnoxious to the people in front of me. In hindsight, the cutoff is good enough that it probably didn't matter. Regardless, even the sport power level is a significant improvement over the OEM fogs.
I got my SS6 fogs installed yesterday. The new optics have a really nice, sharp cutoff. They also just look really good and have an OEM+ vibe... like the light bars were designed with Toyota fitment in mind. I wired the backlights to Aux 3 in case I ever want to use them. Can't wait to get some...
Thanks for the video! Can you post some pictures of the SS6 fogs installed but turned off? I'd like to see how well they fit into the bumper openings. All the photos/videos I've seen have the fogs turned on or the backlights on so it's hard to tell just how well they fit.
Trailhunter and Landcruiser skid plates are steel. TRD Pro skid plate is aluminum. I see you're in Washington... Lake City Toyota in Seattle has had some of the best deals I can find on OEM parts.
I personally like the RCI skid plate out of the options you listed. I emailed RCI and they said...
That's a bummer! I hope they're able to figure it out. Keep us posted.
My truck has the needle bearing/clamshell vibration in the front, but nothing that appears to be coming from the rear. It doesn't bother me enough at this point to swap over to the ECGS bushing. Maybe in the future.
I don't know about the Tacoma's specifically, but lots of newer vehicles have a block inside the filler neck to prevent fuel siphoning. For example, it's practically impossible to get a hose down the filler neck on my son's 2007 F150 (it's technically possible with a very small hose and perfect...
I remember doing the deck plate mod way back when I had a 1st gen. It was a great simple mod. I also remember you could easily remove the silencer on the intake tube for even more sweet intake noises.
Maybe 10 minutes per side with a cordless impact. If I remember correctly, two of the mounting brackets are slotted so you can leave two bolts in the truck body and "hang" the running boards off those two bolts. Then you just put in all the other bolts and tighten everything up. I did it in my...
