I ordered the springs listed yesterday from my local shop that's doing a couple things for me on my TH. I took measurements of the space between my tire and the first contact point inside the wheel well after the LP was installed (forgot to do it stock). Next is my drawers & camp kitchen, then...
Very glad you posted it, thanks! I called them a couple hours ago and got a bit more intel. So the path the gentleman I spoke to said to take is listed and linked below.
- From Dobinson's USA main page choose Toyota, Tacoma 4th Gen, year 24/25, then full suspension kits. The reason for this...
Quick update with pics: We road tripped out to WA from CO (~2,500 miles round trip) to pick up the Lone Peak and finally exposed the truck to some dirt/light trails on the way back. We just got back tonight so keeping this short, but I'll post more detail up later. Spoiler: I love the truck and...
He used mine to film fyi. I am on my way back from picking up my Lone Peak in WA and once I’m back he’s going to finish mounting the cameras once we decide where to put them. He’s planning to film that as well then I believe he’ll wrap up the video to post. I’ll share on this thread as well once...
Very minimal trimming. The shop showed me what he cut off and it was a tiny amount. Yes stock suspension. I am sure I’ll need a beefier rear spring when it’s built (in the next few weeks) but they don’t exist yet.
Rack is the Up Top Overland Kilo rack. See page 2 of this thread for some more...
Quick update. I just got the first "fun: mod done today. Bigger tires. I went with the Falken AT4 in a 295 x 70 x 18 which is 34.26 compared to a true 35. The shop confirmed with pictures (one below) that it will in fact fit underneath. I only bought 4 initially to make sure it fit and now...
They fold up to access the battery but there is a pin you have to pull before they come up. There is some space in there, but I wouldn't store much because I'm assuming you want to keep the space free for air flow.
I just had a guy do a camera relocation in the bed and he posted a quick video...
I have yet to take mine on trails after 2 weeks, which is slightly depressing, but that’s because I have build things going on and am trying to keep the stock tires pristine until I get the new ones. New tires go on Tuesday then Wednesday night we head out to WA do get the Lone Peak and I hope...
So if you look at the 4th image down (linked below too) that shows the fairing up close it's not actually blocky, or I suppose it kind of is but there is a piece that perfectly marries up against the windshield eliminating any gap. I personally like the looks of this design better than my former...
Congrats! Yeah my 2nd gen also had more clearance. I also had a 3” lift as well as 285 x 70 x 17’s before. That’s part of the reason why I’m going bigger this time. As much power/torque as it has I think it will do great but I’ll keep you posted.
Tires go on the 10th, 13th Lone Peak, Air Down...
Nope, with the tall version for the Tacoma it will clear it just fine. Basically with a Tacoma specifically you have the option to do the regular height which clears the cab with plenty of room to not ever touch even under very bumpy off-roading scenarios or to run a cab rack you just need the...
Thanks, I could not be happier with the truck! The Bronze is a much sharper color in person than pics as well in my opinion. I did find it odd as well that all the marketing stuff (or most) had 6ft displayed.
Thanks for the info. So My build date pushed a week or two and I'm pretty sure it's related to yours and some changes they are making as a result of your feedback since it was the first 4th gen. Yours was the first 4th gen right?
LP is doing the tall version. Bud (who was their 1st build I...
See the attached pics and let me know if you need any others. The garage is kinda dark but hopefully that helps. Up Top delivers for free so I just had it shipped direct to me. I live in west Arvada so it saved me the ~45 min commute both ways. I had to call them several times during install and...
I just measured and the total height with the UpTop rack looks to be about ~76". The rack sits a little under 4" above the roof line. I had a Prinsu rack before on my 2nd gen and like this one better for what it's worth as well.
Yep. This was an attempting to poke the bear type of comment. The truck is awesome, the noise is annoying and louder than expected, but that's it. Just a gripe that we can live with that will almost definitely be fixed through some sort of simple remedy.
Agreed. If you stumble across a solution please post up and I will do the same. I did see someone on the FB page posted about duct taping something but I would prefer a more official fix if possible.
This is a bit late but I wanted to post a few updates. I picked up my Trailhunter last week and have now owned it for a little over a week. This is not meant to be a comprehensive review, but below are a few bullet point thoughts and comments so far.
Overall I have nothing but amazing things to...
