My RCI Pike Bumper Install

I evaluated Low Profile Bumpers in this thread

I selected the RCI Pike Bumper and ordered it on Thursday as part of their Memorial Day sale. They told me 2-6 week lead time. I was...
Its not supposed to be level. Toyota builds some rake in. Some peopl;e level it out others like it. I happen to like it. It also prevents squat when towing.
If you like it level, then just doing the front springs will do that
when I had that on my Land Cruiser, I went to different springs on the rear. I think that is easier than airbags. My camper is about 4800 pounds fully loaded
I have an articulating off road hitch that wont allow the use of the weight distribution hitch

Thank you. I will post up when I get this installed.
I really appreciaated the thread on your install and your interaction here. I learned a lot from both!
I selected the RCI Pike Bumper With a Warn EVO VR 10-S winch.
I liked the look of this bumper the best
This has beefy secondary brackets.
Install Video and Instructions are very easy to follow
Likely to line up better with my RCI Skid plates
Decided to add a winch even though listed as nice to...
Thanks for the measurement.
On the springs, are you lifting the rear as well? I think its more about the height then being too stiff.
Some folks like their trucks level, not me. I like some rake and even some extra since I tow.
You have the measurements from my experiance. what will .25"...
I ran a little experiment. Not 100% accurate because the weight would be at the end of the frame rails which would apply more down force
8 gallons of water and 6 gallons of Tea (Ran out of water). Assume each is 8.3 lbs = 116 lbs
The droop in the front was about .25"
This simulates a bumper...
Thanks for the thoughtful response.
I have found myself looking at winch weights today :) I don't use my winch on my Land Cruiser much. Mostly to help vehicles get unstuck. Once to get up a hard obstacle with a dedcated winch point. However, I did use it once to pull myself out of a snow drift...
Agree with the comment on instructions. I have watched RCI's install video maybe 5 times. Seems pretty easy and straight forward. I then reviewed their pdf version of the install instructions. Very well put together
CBI has nothing but a little commentary in one bumper video and no install...
BTW, I was wondering how much the crash bar removed weighs. I am guessing about 30-40 pounds but I have no idea. Just looking at the two guys carrying it in the install video.
I have been going over the installs between the RCI Pike and CBI Superstock which are my two leading canidates based on my needs. As stated earlier, If I needed a light bar I would be looking at the Victory or Cali bumpers
The cutting and triming looks to be the same between the two bumpers...
