Yeah, I meant with the known HP and torque numbers, 30mpg wasn’t on the table. They obviously could’ve designed the hybrid for maximum fuel efficiency but it has been pretty clear that that wasn’t in the cards
I do feel like it leaves most people more confused about the offerings than anything...
I remember looking at the Rivian R1T and thinking it was really nice but it was a ridiculous price for a midsize truck. After tax credits it’s pretty much the same price as a TRD Pro now
Would be interesting if these prices cause cannibalism within their own markets. These prices seem like enthusiast numbers.. I think the deals will be very different by the end of the year.
Especially with the small gas tank on the 2024. 30mpg was never going to happen but I was really hoping...
That's an optimism I lost along this journey... I'm expecting nothing but silence on the 23rd, new rumors of official pricing coming end of May, YouTubers mentioning they get 14mpg combined with the hybrid, and paint supply chain issues causing only celestial silvers to be offered from this...
Another factor is the significant downturn in Q1 sales numbers for Tacoma and how they almost lost the #1 midsize spot. I think there is going to be a lot of incentive for Toyota to move as many tacos this year as they can.
Oh wow, wasn’t even thinking about the spoiler.. that’s too bad. I’d bet that Flated will address that soon with a modified design: one of the other perks of Tacomas is that with that much market share, most midsize truck accessory makers strive to be compatible. Not a good look to say your...
Tundras additionally suffer from being ugly, but they also have the high price/high interest rate combo. Sales numbers were pretty bad until they started doing significant discounts and 0% financing. I’d think Tacomas would have a larger market, especially at first, but wouldn’t be surprised if...
I'm not saying you can do yoga back there... I know it's a small seat, but it's disingenuous to say there is "no legroom" and point to a seat all the way back while looking across the driver's side where there is obviously room for legs.
This. The video is a ridiculous take bc she is pointing across at the passenger side that is all the way back to say there is no legroom, when to see it you have to look past the driver’s side that is forward somewhat and clearly shows legroom.
At this point of Tacoma shopping, I’m conditioned that 1 year means 2, and therefore won’t be holding my breath or plans for that.. but if it was out right now against a 25mpg Tacoma Hybrid I’d be very tempted
*IF* these rumors of 25mpg turn out to be true, this feature will be one of the last things bugging me to stick with the hybrid route. The ability to run a saw off of it to break down things before loading would be great.
Still seems highly speculative to trust an off-the-top-of-his-head comment from Roman on a video about another vehicle to be the actual number. Until it's official from Toyota, speculation is just speculation.
Agree 100%. My wife who knows nothing about trucks saw one and asked “why don’t you just get one of those?”. Proud to say our relationship survived that comment but yeah those snouts on the front are absolutely horrible.
Appreciate the post. I also am considering the Limited for the features and ride. I want a truck to do truck things like move firewood and get sheet goods and otherwise be a daily driver.. no interest in rock crawling or offroading. I'm just short of being a boomer so I guess my tastes in chrome...
With a lease, you’re typically betting that the car will depreciate more than you’re paying for, or that the cost of leasing over 3 years will be less than the difference of buying and selling over the same 3 years. That worked great for early EV models for that reason. Tacomas do not normally...
Yeah these are mostly fluff and seem produced to be b-roll for ads later. Only real audience is those desperate enough to sit through 15 minutes of youtube content for any morsel of new info because Toyota corporate is so lacking. Oh wait, that's me!
Haven't used OP but have used similar brokers in the past with 0 issues. In fact, they save a ton of time and hassle. Even used their up-front numbers to get a dealer to beat it once when they had the car we wanted locally and that was done in 2 emails whereas if you went in blind to the dealer...
