My local dealer has these two in stock stock Tacomas listed today. Check out that dealer adjustment. To me, this says one thing; go buy a Nissan Frontier. ?
At least Iām starting to feel better about my inability to get an extra cab SR5. It sounds like if you want something specific, you better not be in a hurry. since theyāre hovering around $50,000, Iām not willing to compromise and buy something that is not exactly what I want. ?ā?
Haha. I actually get people wanting to buy it all the time. The solid front axle is sort of a collectors item. It will stay with me. My wife says sheās going to bury me in it. 38 years and counting of driving the same rig. ?
I will give them a call. However, they don't show any in stock or in transit on their web site. We have two dealers in the entire state, and they are owned by the same outfit. The one in Anchorage made no mention of any in Fairbanks. Thanks for the tip.
Good score finding one yourself. I...
Thanks. I should have been more specific. I wish Toyota still built an off road capable Xtracab like the Off Road Trim. That ship has sailed.
I have zero interest in a totally stripped model like an SR, so that leaves me in the unenviable position of buying an SR5 Xtrcab and spending even...
Cool info but I wish I could find a distribution for Xtracabs. I have been scouring the Internet daily and have seen just a few SR5 trim Xtracabs. One in Colorado, and a 2 or 3 on the East Coast. I asked my dealer (in Alaska) and they have no information on when they might get some.
It's...
The limited does have some unique features that are pretty cool.
Having said that, I would never buy one for two reasons.
You cannot buy it with a 6 foot bed, and I hate chrome. Other than those two issues, I think itās a pretty nice option.
Cāmon Toyota. Make this in 4WD. (Basically a TRD Off-Road Xtracab)
There are lots of people who live where it snows and donāt want a two wheel drive truck in the winter.
As you can see from my profile pic, Iām a long time Xtracab guy. I bought my ā85 back in ā86 and itās still on the stock motor.(300k on the odometer)
I started to buy an access cab last year, but decided to hold out for the new style. I was disappointed in the lack of Access Cab door because...
I am in the exact same boat. It pisses me off to no end that Iām going to have to drop thousands more to turn a stripper into a decent off-road truck considering the price out the door for the sr5.
yours looks awesome!
This is literally exactly what I want. I do want the SR5 upgrade package...
Thatās most likely what I will get. I will just bite the bullet and buy new tires. I like KO2s.
I wish they offered a higher trim, or made the PreRunner in 4WD but it is what it is.
Thanks for posting. ???
I have been looking at all the options. It appears that the Toyota brain trust has concluded that people who drive extra cabs donāt want to drive them off the pavement. Nothing could be further from the truth in my case.
Having said that, they are not making an off road capable version in the...
Thanks. You had more info than my dealer. He was in the dark on Xtracabs.
So far Iāve seen pics or videos of three. The underground Prerunner, the white SR, and a red SR5. (All were preproduction)
Iād like to see one in person and see how easy (or hard) it is to put stuff behind the seats...
Does anyone have any insider information about a possible production date for the Xtracabs? It is pretty evident that Toyota hasnāt built any production trucks.
I wish Toyota didnāt ignore this configuration, but I guess I should be happy they are going to offer one at all. Itās pretty much...
I havenāt seen a darn thing anywhere. I have zero interest in a 2wd so my only option would be an SR5 Xtracab.
If only Toyota would make some. Iāve seen one preproduction SR5 Xtracab on the media tour but thatās it.
At this point, Iām inclined to just wait for 2025. Frustrating.
But par...
I too want a two door and find it frustrating that you can no longer get it in sport or off road trim. You can basically buy a stripper sr5.
Two wheel drive and the 5 foot bed are non starters for me, so that eliminates the Prerunner. I have to choose between a bare bone SR5 Xtracab (if they...
That white one is a preproduction press truck. If youāre looking to see an Xtracab, It appears Toyota has built three so far. (All pre production)
There is the white SR, a red SR5, and an underground Prerunner.
At this point, I will most likely just wait for the 2025 model year. Why buy a...
I live in Alaska and remote start is a great feature. My problem is my 4runner also has a manual transmission. Although Toyota does not offer it, there are aftermarket companies who sell remote starts for manual transmissions. It is sort of a hassle because you have to literally set it up...
