I haven't driven either truck, but their claim that the Tacoma seems old vs the Ford certainly isn't true from an exterior styling standpoint. Even the 3rd gen Tacomas still look relatively modern as does the 4th gen, while the current gen Ranger looks like it was designed in about 2003.
I think you're missing the point of my post. Your initial post seemed dismissive of anyone who is still curious about the pricing/MPG/release schedule, while you believe they should all know it's always been April. However, there was never any reason to expect MPG and pricing would not come...
How is your dealer able to give you estimated delivery dates if they don't have the allocations? I have 2 deposits down and neither dealer has a clue when they will be coming.
It is strange that nearly all of their ads have been showcasing the Pro or Trailhunter which aren't available yet, which has to be confusing for people who haven't been following all of this closely. Yeah, they're going to want to show the flashiest trucks in their ads, but I wonder if the...
We've known this for many, many months? The only thing that has been said publicly by Toyota was that hybrid production would begin in "spring." And there was never any announcement that pricing and MPG would be released when production started. The pricing of the non-hybrids was released months...
Rumor has it there is a media 1st drive event next weekend. That doesn't necessarily mean we'll be getting MSRP and MPG at that time, but I doubt they will wait too much longer to release the pricing. I've been on the list for a Trailhunter since last spring and a few months ago my dealer sent...
Does it have a spray-in bedliner? I think I saw a video where a spray-in liner was hampering the tailgate closure. Either way, should be brought to the dealer's attention.
Has anyone noticed the interior plastics showing scuffs/scratches easily? The one I sat in (which still had the plastic on the seats, I was the first to sit in it) seemed to have noticeable scuffs on the door panels and I've seen the same in pics, but I haven't heard anyone else mention it.
I doubt Toyota would advertise ARB parts and then manufacture them themselves. Of course, a vehicle assembled in Mexico will use components manufactured all over the place. It doesn't mean they are manufacturing every individual part there. I know they are building some of the iForce engines in...
70,000 CAD is 51,374 USD, which is less than the MSRP of the non-hybrid Limited. There is (sadly) no way it will be that low. Pro and Trailhunter will likely be low to mid $60s, possibly higher. The mid tier Land Cruiser with Softex and less options than come standard in the TH and Pro with the...
I don't have an FJ but I DD a 100 series and have a Highlander. I sat in a 4th Gen Taco (didn't drive as it was sold) this week and it's noticeably smaller than either. Feels much more like a small car. I then test drove a Tundra and it felt massive compared to the Taco.
Those are the MPG specs for a nonhybrid SR5. These specs are simply the "max" of each category (hybrid HP and torque figures shown, but nonhybrid towing figure shown). Sure, the hybrid MPG could be coming in around this, but that's not where they are getting that number.
He does say, "You have 2 options," but the option that he's describing with such enthusiasm is only available in one specific model that isn't even on the market yet. It almost sounds as if he's saying the truck allows you to select between full time 4WD and part time, but he just wasn't super...
The full time 4 wheel drive he's describing is only available in the iForce Max Limited Tacoma, the rest of the trucks are part time (must be manually shifted and not designed to be driven on dry pavement in 4H). It's confusing because it appears he is talking about the truck he's standing next...
In the technical review by the Car Care Nut on Youtube (posted elsewhere on the forum today) he mentions that the engine is very quiet and that there is soundproofing materials around it, just no engine cover. I seem to remember another review questioning why there wasn't any sound insulation...
Thanks for sharing your experiences and opinions. I do think the final price of the Trailhunter (and availability) will make a big difference in terms of how seriously I look at the competition. If it comes in at $56k and I can have it by summer then I won't look much further. If it's $62k and...
OK, I now see that I was also mistaken about it saying it doesn't come with heated seats (which I was repeating after reading it elsewhere). It does say not available, but then further down it says heated and cooled is standard. Either way, I do know that I've seen several videos where it is...
That same info also claims that Trailhunter only comes with a 5 foot bed and doesn't have heated seats, both of which are wrong. The chief engineer has said TH will not have a moonroof as an option.
