I would research professional car detailing products to remove water spots, there are plenty available. If you’re washing your car (or going to a car wash) hard water (minerals/impurities) causes water spots. you can prevent them with using soft water to wash, PPF and/or ceramic coating.

That connector could be for the prewired aux switch. I believe that’s where mine is on my TrailHunter

UPDATE: I’m getting 16-17 now. Not driving “conservatively”. Driving normally. I reset my mpg meter and continue to check Fuelly. Not sure why it gave me 8 but after six records I’m consistently getting high 16s. I fill up every half tank.

I do idle for about 30 minutes. Dash said as low as 15. Now that I’ve been monitoring and trying to bring it up it says 17/18. Other TH owners have said they see approx 10-18. Definitely less than advertised.
