  1. Trailhunter max tire size

Could I trouble you to show us the level of tire poke with these 295s on stock TH wheels ?
  2. Protecting your turbo - turning off the hybrid engine

I’m ignorant on how turbo systems are typically cooled (both the compressed air being routed to the engine and the turbo itself). Is this setup typical? Inter cooler plus separate radiator? Pros/ cons to it? Unrelated- is the trans fluid cooled by the engine’s radiator?
  3. Heads-Up Display (HUD) on 2024 Tacoma - Like/Dislike?

Others have reported this. I thought mine was until I realized it was my visor when in the downward position moving slightly and causing a plastic on plastic sound. However if you figure out a good solution please post for future reference
  4. Protecting your turbo - turning off the hybrid engine

Right. Not worried at all. I just enjoy understanding and properly caring for my vehicles. It’s part of the experience for me.
  5. Trailhunter max tire size

    Currently trending toward 285/70/18 Falken AT4Ws (34”) or 285/70/18 KO3s (33.7”) — will report back on fit!
  6. Protecting your turbo - turning off the hybrid engine

Lifetime? Wow. I have faith in it but I don’t think it will go forever. Expecting 200K miles and will be more than happy with that.
  7. 2024 Tacoma TRD Pro on 35s

Love that tire and love it’s a true 34”.. but at 68lb I’m leaning toward KO3 at 63.9lb
  8. 2024 Tacoma TRD Pro on 35s

This is my plan for the TH — if you do it take pics
  9. Protecting your turbo - turning off the hybrid engine

Good points. I’ve also noticed that the engine manages itself. In other words it sometimes does not shut off at a stop, perhaps it just monitors temps and knows when it can and can’t, which is probably how it works.
  10. Protecting your turbo - turning off the hybrid engine

Yeah I meant non-hybrid - all that makes sense just want to know if the hybrids keep the air fans on and coolant flowing after you power off the engine— probably not
  11. Protecting your turbo - turning off the hybrid engine

Makes tons of sense but is it true that the manual only says to “idle” in the [non-hybrid]? I’m traveling but will check my own manual upon return.
  12. Protecting your turbo - turning off the hybrid engine

So far nobody has answered my question about the hybrid always turning off the motor when I come to a stop — how would I be able to cool down the turbo oil / drain it out if it never really “idles?”.. also does it have a turbo timer or not?
  13. Protecting your turbo - turning off the hybrid engine

I have read that you should idle for a minute before turning off your motor, especially after heavy load, to let the oil in the turbo drain out fully so it doesn’t cook inside the turbo. When it cooks in there and cannot drain, the oil loses life and the turbo can get clogged over time by coked...
  14. Choice Between Hybrid and Non-Hybrid Gasoline: What Influenced Your Decision?

So you can keep the truck on all night and let it power stuff without threat of draining the starter battery, is this correct ?
  15. Choice Between Hybrid and Non-Hybrid Gasoline: What Influenced Your Decision?

The hybrid is for torque not MPG, but nothing wrong with the gas version.
  16. Choice Between Hybrid and Non-Hybrid Gasoline: What Influenced Your Decision?

I believe so. @Snickers would likely know. He’s kind of a guru on this matter and others pertaining to hybrids.
  17. Choice Between Hybrid and Non-Hybrid Gasoline: What Influenced Your Decision?

Hybrid. Way more power. Electric only when I’m coasting under 25mph. Better gas mileage. Better torque. And less turbo spool to preserve the motor and turbo.
