KO3s 275/70R18 (~60lbs) wheels (~33lbs)… they’re definitely some heavy tires, but they’re stout! I’d have gone for SL tires, but I really wanted these KO3s, and unfortunately, they still don’t make em lightweight… possibly later this year, maybe. ?‍♂️
Good point. I feel fairly confident they’ll hold up, but only time will tell. We deal with salty roads here on the East coast too. Our roads wind up looking like Bonneville for a few months around here lol. I like the grey idea. I was thinking high gloss black cause of the fender flares on the...
Maybe… the powder coating seems to hold up just fine to gravel and mud, plus it gives decent grip for your boots. I drive a fair bit through job sites and on gravel roadways. Side note: the sliders also do a fair job of protecting your rear fenders from rock chips too. Are you ordering them in...
I have the step edition sliders with the powder coat finish, and it's nice. Cali Raised did a nice job with the powder coating, in my opinion. It has a nice grip to it, and it's relatively easy to keep clean. I can't speak on any of the other finishes though. These've been on my truck since...
Bead-blasted aluminum is still smooth. That looks like powder coating to my eye. If it is only sandblasted, it would still be good to paint… I think the powder coating just gives it a little extra protection from the elements. Aluminum does corrode too, just not as easily as steel.
@Cabby30 hard to disagree there. Although, it is essentially identical (same material and thickness) minus the lettering… do you know if the trd plate is powder coated, bare aluminum, or painted?
It’s fairly heavy gauged, stamped aluminum, and I think you’d be hard pressed to find anything on...
Agreed. I was given this skid plate, so for me, it was free. There really isn't a good reason to choose one over the other, but it's always cool to have options! Who knows? Maybe somebody out there doesn't want the extra 5 horsepower from the red lettering? I think the OEM version also...
I had been holding off on buying metal skid protection for the underside of my Tacoma, but was recently given an opportunity to try out @TRUMGETA TRUMGETA's offering and share my opinion. I'll start off by saying that it was shipped extremely quickly and the product was packaged nicely. It's...
Yeah, definitely no buttons on my tailgate either. Pretty weak for Toyota to not have this as a standard feature. It’s not a huge deal, but it’s just one of those things leaving you scratching your head.
On a more positive note, I’m super happy they at least gave us MT owners a keyless entry...
Check out my thread on the subject. I’ve got some pictures to give you an idea of the side poke. I’d guess less than 1/2” of tread (if that) pokes out on level ground with the wheels dead straight, but the second you start cutting the wheel… that’s when stuff really starts flying lol. The bulk...
Agreed. The added poke inevitably causes more stuff to fly onto the sides of your truck. I added some rock sliders with kick outs towards the rear that have helped a lot, and also the ARK micro guards that also help to add a little protection. If you run sliders or running boards, these will...
@emerica243 That's super helpful. Thanks for taking the time! It looks like you have the "Black-red" version, and they do look good. I'm assuming you've been happy with them since they're still on your truck lol. I definitely think I will jump on these eventually.
I have the amber bulbs and they no longer flash when I lock my truck. They’re also not a true amber color. They almost have a pinkish hue to them. I'm gonna email Lasfit and see if they’ll replace them.
Hey Matt, I found your post about the AlphaRex tail lights on another thread which lead me here. Really cool stuff! Anyway, I was curious if you could take some daytime pictures of the tail lights from different angles (specifically from the sides) both on and off? My truck doesn't have the...
