  1. Oil change -- Anyone over 5,000 miles do a 3rd party oil change?

I have already done 2 oil changes at home. (3200 km on my Sport) I will have the first and only warranty oil change done by the dealership when it is due. From then on I will take responsibility. Dealership has it on record that I do my own and they are good with it- warrantywise and such...
  2. MPG/litres per 100 km - gauge fluctuation

Yesterday my TRD Sport went in for its first service. All was basically good. When I got it home I decided to reset the MPG gauge to ā€œ0ā€ ( litres per 100 km. here in Canada )and start fresh. I reset it through the gauge cluster as well as on the 14ā€ screen. As I drove today the gauge numbers...
  3. List of Unsold 2024 Tacoma Affected by the Transmission TSB as of 12/18/24 *UPDATED*

Wow- very impressive! Thanks for this. Just wondering what kind of numbers we are looking at here in Canada. I ā€˜m on the list but nothing yet. Only have about 2900 km on on mine but waiting to see what happens. First service next week. I’ll see if the dealer can bring up any codes. Probably...
  4. Number of 2024 Tacoma affected by auto transmission issue TSB is "less than thousands" (says Toyota)

My VIN is in the 3000’s so I’m definitely on the list. 6 months ownership- no problems so far mechanically. Couple of little cosmetic items but so far so good.
  5. No camaras, screen blank.

Me as well. 6 month old TRD Sport, 3000 km. Sept.5th. Reset after ignition turned off then on again. Has happened only once so far. Going in next week for my six month service and dealer already knows about it. We shall see.
  6. What is this and how do I nuke it? "Enter 6-digit PIN"

I agree. I had the same issue with a PIN I didn’t remember setting up at dealership. You can go through the screen and set up a new pin as descibed. I believe that there is no default PIN for these systems. It’s really a lot easier than it might appear. Good Luck
  7. TSB: 2024 Tacoma Transmission Failures Issue & Replacement (9/9/24). Updated w/ VIN Lookup Tool

According to my Canadian dealer, we are included in the original TSB. Apparently no separate Canadian TSB at this time. Just going by what I was told.
  8. TSB: 2024 Tacoma Transmission Failures Issue & Replacement (9/9/24). Updated w/ VIN Lookup Tool

So I had a word with my dealer. Drive it until something goes wrong is what I was told. I was also told that if your Vin number falls within the parameter of those listed, it does not necessarily mean you’re going to have a problem. Not exactly comforting. There will be various indicators to...
  9. TSB: 2024 Tacoma Transmission Failures Issue & Replacement (9/9/24). Updated w/ VIN Lookup Tool

I wouldn’t think so. Mine falls within the range. And the trucks are built in either of the two plants that are affected -somehow I don’t think Canadians could be so lucky! I’m just about to call the dealer to find out anyways.
  10. Tire upgrade: 265/70R18 Falken tires

If it all works out please post pics. Planning on a new set of Falken Wildpeak tires for my sport premium next week. I was going to go stock tire size, but it would be interesting to see what yours looks like.
  11. 2024 Tacoma TRD Sport. Back up camera stopped working

Had the b/u camera not working yesterday on my Sport Premium. ( purchased in April) Shut truck down , then started up again and it seems to work fine now. First official vehicle service due next month. I will bring it up then as well as a couple of other little issues. No big issues yet.?
  12. Help: 2024 Taco OEM bed mat ship to Canada?

I wanted an OEM mat as well. Production of the mats will not resume til manufacturing facility is rebuilt after a fire ( told to me by Toyota Dealership.)No timeline. My dealership told me we can’t get them from the states. Why I don’t know. I went with TripleA liners bed mat for 240 bucks on...
  13. From excited to feeling nervous about my Tacoma Limited order

Note to BronzoTaco. Gotta appologize. It’s a Canadian thing. I got so wrapped up in discussing my diamond back cover with you that I neglected to wish you luck with everything you’re going through. I hope all this settles out to your liking. Truthfully thinking about it, I would hope that the...
  14. From excited to feeling nervous about my Tacoma Limited order

Yes- the DB Switchback.( I agree-great company to deal with). I really enjoy it. I don’t plan on hauling too much on top of it so I don’t have all the tiedown hooks or anything like that. It lets me still use most of my p/u box . I’ve had toppers on my other Tacomas ( 2-2nd gens). Decided to go...
  15. From excited to feeling nervous about my Tacoma Limited order

I was in the same boat when I first purchased my sport premium, and read some the negative comments. I have had my Tacoma since April and I love driving it. I’m not going worry about the occasional troll on these forums. So far so good. I am 71 years old and this will probably be my last vehicle...
  16. Hydraulic struts hood assist system installed

On a side note the slight hood flutter is still there- maybe not quite as obvious but the struts did not eliminate it completely.
  17. TripleAliners bed mats reviews / experiences?

So thanks everyone. Bit the bullet and got a one from TripleAliners through Amazon. I needed one sooner than later and before the price goes up…..! Should do me nicely.
  18. TripleAliners bed mats reviews / experiences?

Anyone with experience with / opinions of the TripleAliners bed mats? Can’t find any previous threads on this. OEM mats are unavailable in Canada and the TripleAliners mats seem to be decent quality and a reasonable price. ( even up here) Thanks for any help.
