Yep, EVAP system leakdown test. I freaked out the first time I heard mine do it.
The manual says something about it too. It happens 5hr after shutdown.
Especially when our trucks have driver adjustable modes that do WAY more than any pedal controller can do.
And I'll say it again for people in the back:
The ONLY thing that these pedal controllers can do is to simulate the driver pushing the throttle pedal more or faster. Which can be done...
Spot on. I'm in the PNW, which is WET for a solid 50% of the year, damp for 25% of the year, and dry-ish for the other 25%.
Skinny tires feel very sketchy on wet asphalt. Add in some road debris or uneven surfaces and traction will snap loose much quicker. Skinny tires also need higher psi to...
I've seen both videos. Neither one actually tests the tires in real conditions.
Tire width affects the feel and performance for daily driving, snow, sand, mud, rocks, and... Everything. And I'm not just talking about the carcass width - tread width has an even larger impact.
Load rating also...
This is correct - if your suspension is stock, alignment is covered under warranty for 1yr/12k. Once the suspension is modified, it's all on the owner.
The Toyota factory bottle jack is honestly the best bottle jack available.
Carry a wide block of wood to get additional height, or maybe a Hi-Lift sand/mud base.
Yep. I Google searched the image, and it's an Ikon Technologies GPS tracker. Commonly used in rental, loaner, demo, or BHPH lot cars. Sometimes added as a dealership option but nobody ever really wants it.
If your truck is leased, leave it. If you own your truck, remove it.
Will they bolt in? Absolutely.
Will they function? Um........
You'd need to dig around to confirm what which wiring harness(es) those parts connect to, and if your truck has them or not. Also, whether or not any other modules or additional parts required. You may get lucky though, since much...
WTF this is a new one for me too.
Maybe if you have a known rodent problem. Maybe.
But the FIRST answer would be to get the rodents under control. If I had enough mice to worry about the truck, I'd be more worried about my house.
I had this exact thought the other day while driving.
Either use manual shift mode to keep the revs up, or put the truck in Sport Mode or maybe Tow/Haul Mode (especially if the truck is heavily loaded). Then the trans won't slip as much and temps will stay lower.
It happened on my 3rd Gen 4runner, and my GX470 (Same as a 120 series Prado/4runner). Both were 4 link/panhard rear suspension.
Both were solved with some good Moly Grease for the splines. Easy DIY fix.
Edit: but DON'T use Moly Grease on the U-Joints themselves. Never use Moly Grease in any...
Rear drive line splines may need greasing. It's a common Toyota thing in all truck models from the last 30 years. The small amount of grease on the splines dries up and sticks, then pops loose at a stop sign when the suspension shifts, and axle/brake load rotates the axle a bit. I've had it...
No worries, you're asking the right questions and going into this with a good mindset.
Do you like the way the suspension feels now? If so, keep the stock shocks. They are actually pretty good and comparable to basic aftermarket shocks. Then either add a preload spacer (will make the front...
