So I'm looking to see if I can add a dash cam and a auto dimming rearview mirror with the existing wiring. I took photos of the connectors up there, there is a 3 pin on the left side and then 2 connectors that are capped? or fused? I'm not sure but they are not plugged into anything. Are these...
Just completed the DCM delete on my MT SR, there are some slight differences to the manual transmission version of this DIY. You're going to need to remove the trim around the shifter before pulling the bezel as it is larger and harder to remove than on the automatic cars.
If you don't know...
Decided to cut it off, did it very slowly and painstakingly but no damage to the wire!
Now I can shut the cover no problem with the tailgate open, I think it's the way to go
I mean it's a truck, I do truck stuff with it idk
The tonneau cover has plenty of strength to it so I'm not concerned about breaking anything, and the surface area of the piece gives it decent wind resistance so it's not going super fast either.
I'm not slamming it very hard, just dropping it...
It's when I swing the cover shut from it being flipped back, the handle flies out and gets caught... If I close it very slow it doesn't happen but I am impatient ?
There's only 1 handle, the other side and the rest of the pieces you just pull the wire which is totally fine for opening it.
I think it's pretty well aligned, it opens and shuts just fine when the tailgate is down the only issue is the handle interfering when the tailgate is up
I've found that when I close the tonneau cover with the tailgate already shut that the emergency release handle gets stuck between the tailgate and the cover and prevents it from closing. Is it okay to delete the handle? I'm thinking I should cut or burn through the plastic carefully to get it...
Call me old school but the less the truck does on its own the better.
I stalled it in stop start traffic one time and didn't realize the parking brake engaged automatically for an embarrassingly long period of time. Since then it's been off. I typically engage it only when i park on an inclined...
I think he's talking about the parking brake that kicks in automatically when you turn the truck off
I disabled that immediately, glad I could. All you have to do is hold down the parking brake button for like 30 seconds I think
I found someone offering a pretty good deal on a set of 4th gen TRD Sport 18" wheels along with 265/65R18 Bridgestone Blizzard snow tires, I am interested in getting a dedicated set of snow tires because I drive around in VT very often during the winter.
Will I see any reduction in ride quality...
I'm seeing a ton of people offering extremely good deals on the TRD off road shocks as I assume they are upgrading them to aftermarket ones, would they bolt onto my SR even if they're meant for coils and not leafs?
I'm not sure if the shock bodies are different lengths or something but this...
Ok man, how much did K&N pay you to say that installing an air filter gained you 70 miles of range?!?
Feeling a bit sceptical about that, what's your total range at now?
I use mine exclusively wired on long trips, wireless drains my battery pretty quickly at about 1% every few minutes, and my phone gets hot. I'd much rather plug it in, get the better response times for playing/skipping music, and show up to my destination with a full battery.
Short trips I'll...
I ended up with a manual SR that the dealer magically happened to have on the lot, went for a test drive and enjoyed it a lot more than the automatic. I am not a fan of the nannies that hold you in place when you're hill starting or the way it adds throttle from a start even with no gas pedal...
