I would be a bit upset having paid that much for those gaskets to look like that. Seems to either be a product defect or installation error. I hope they don't say those gaskets appear normal.
I returned to the shop and oddly enough the door unlock worked as normal.
It had something to do with the Guest function on the Toyota app. I had it enabled while they were working on it with a 5 mile radius.
I disabled the overall Guest function but the individual settings within that Guest...
Very weird behavior. It was working normally prior to dropping it off to get the truck wrapped in PPF. During that time, I had the Toyota app guest driver function enabled to monitor operation, but that is now disabled.
As you can see from the video below, when I approach the truck with the fob...
Not necessarily a regret. I got the RCI steel skid plate package....a lot of money and a lot of weight. Sort of wish I had gone with aluminum, but then I found myself on a rocky mountain road and bashed up the steel skid plates pretty good. They're still in their proper form...if I had gone with...
Great looking truck. If you don't mind, can you take measurements from the ground to the bottom of the fenders, through the center of the wheel, for both front and rear?
It's been about 2 weeks with the new front springs and I couldn't be happier. Spent some time off-roading with them, as well as driving roads where I was experiencing some abnormal reactions with the stock springs (seemed to bottom out) and these stiffer springs handle all that beautifully. It...
I tested charging my Jackery Explorer 1000 v2 power station via the in-bed 120v AC outlet and it wouldn't work. Truck was running (in park), 120v AC button near the AUX gauges was engaged. I could hear the Jackery audibly clicking every few seconds, as if it was attempting to charge but failing...
I installed these same front springs last night. Overall, very impressed after initial driving. I still have about a 0.5" rake with all-stock rear suspension.
The install was a bit more challenging than anticipated but we got it done.
A recent episode (25:20 mark) of Expedition Overland highlights using the spare tire cavity for what appear to be two 6-gallon fuel cells. I had done a quick search at the time and located the fuel cells from Trailed.
I will likely be doing this at some point for longer overland trips as insurance.
Very interesting. This may be exactly what I am looking for. I'm in roughly the same boat you were in - installed approximately 300lbs of steel between rock sliders and skid plates, so I'm looking to stiffen up primarily the front suspension; I can feel it compresses easier than I'd like.
Did...
Are the genuine Toyota front tow hooks rated for higher load limits than the stock 2024 tow hooks that come on the truck? My understanding is the stock tow hooks on the Tacoma are not rated for recovery.
I have the full body steel skid plates from RCI. At the time of receipt, I wished I had gone with aluminum - they are heavy. However, I found myself in an unexpected situation shortly after and the skid plates took a few good hits...I'm glad I went with steel.
After a significant amount of research, I purchased a DoDrop ALPHA from Oregon Trail'R last month. I needed something small enough to fit in my garage next to the Tacoma while still allowing other storage room.
I plan to use it for up to multi-week trips around the western US while working...
Are you able to do this for the radar cruise control too? The parking sensor one in my video was a newer one - I usually get radar cruise control not available from snow.
Is there any way to mute these sort of alerts? Driving in the snow - which is a frequent occurrence for 4-5 months out of the year for some of us - results in these nonstop alerts whenever more than two snowflakes accumulate on the various sensors.
Hitting the “back” button the steering wheel...
I wash the truck whenever it gets into the high 30s or low 40s during winter, which is rare for a 2-4 month span. Just managed to do it last week and reapplied Griots ceramic wax to the truck.
I'm sure the neighbors get a laugh when they see me outside washing the truck with a puffy jacket and...
