I'm about 50 min from Michigan and I used to shop over the border all the time..yes even for tires so I know Discount Tire. The one in Ft Gratiot is a great shop. I have bought a few sets from them in my day. Great pricing and even better service. If the tariffs ever go away I will return, but...
I'm digging my Falkens. Head and shoulders above the KO2s and Duratracs on road especially in the wet. In the snow I find the KO2 was slightly superior and the week I spent off road with the Falkens was a pleasant surprise. I found no difference in the Duratracs which I thought was a pretty...
If your running the Paris-Dakkar. lol
That's an absolute overload for a guy who is starting out...however I won't argue the fact that you are prepared my friend.
There are some goodies here I forgot I use as well but when I'm doing some more serious stuff...gas..moving blankets...good to lay on...
I think recovery gear also has a lot to do with were you live. I'm in Canada so my needs might differ from others.
Lots of good ideas here so far. Start with the basics...solid recovery points front and rear. Shackles or soft Shackles, kinetic rope, shovel and a air compressor are an excellent...
Ha...I got the Falkens on Marketplace as well..1300 bones with 5 Jeep rims.
Sold the Jeep rims for 600 sold the factory tires off the the Taco for 650.
Cost me 150 mount and balance at buddy's shop ...so ya 200 bucks for 5 Tires with less than 50 miles on them.
Keeping an eye on this...I stuffed a 33 under there but it's low hanging fruit for sure. I am removing it for around town but on trips obviously want to take it. Why are hitch mount spare tire holders so expensive? I don't even need a swing out.
I haven't put them on yet...as it's- 200 degrees here and there is 4 ft of snow on the ground.
To answer your question I went the Rally style...from what I see on there web site there is enough coverage to handle a 285 on a stock offset.
I think the xl would be more appropriate with a bigger...
Wow...cool.
I think you missed my first post as to the fact I run a 285 on a stock rim so it's my problem I created.
I throw mud and dirt all over the side of my truck.
To answer your question tho....very fast.
If you do ANY kind of dirt road /off roading these flaps are garbage.
I realize the "Canadian" flaps are wider but the issue with all of the factory flaps is the gap between the bottom of the front flare and the top of the flap. I would seriously go aftermarket for way better coverage vs...
I'm my eyes the Canadian ones are still shit. Why is there a gap between the bottom of the flair and the top of the flap? I get shit all over the side of my truck. I run a 285 on a stock OR rim so maybe it's my fault.
I have a set of RokBlokz sitting in my garage I have yet to install.
I...
My RokBlokz are in the garage still, to cold to install but I'm happy to see yours look great. Just the coverage I was looking for.
Why did Toyota slap a flap on a truck that doesn't meet the bottom of the fender flairs? I can't tell if your running a larger tire, but im lifted 2.5/1 and running...
