Ordered a couple pieces of carbon fibre (matte, 100x25x2.5mm) with the hopes of replacing the cheapish looking TRD decal at the base of the steering wheel.. free handed the angle grinder which was probably my biggest mistake, taking a hair too much away to the lower right corner :p
Similar to this thread from a 2024 I have the noisy wiper motor. In my case: seems to be worst in the cold, also constant, but becomes intermittent else barely noticeable in warmer weather. This recording taken April/spring, in Toronto. Captures the noise at around half of what is was in Feb/March.
TRD Pro folks, have any of you tested all 3 zone/settings and what are your QS3 shocks set to for road driving?
I'm presently at 1 on all four wheels. EDIT: QS3 manual linked below. I love the lack of sway/sag but am surprised how rough the ride is. I feel every crack in the road, more-so than...
Hey folks,
Another 3M carbon fibre fender/mirrors wrap. Performed in the greater Toronto area at fast wrap. Fender bolts were loosened, fenders pulled out slightly to allow for folded edges behind/underneath and hand tightened when re-secured. Mirror covers also removed. 5yr warranty, $650+tax...
Hey folks,
Installed the HitchHammer Standard (vs XL).. the taco auto-brakes too far from the wall for my small parking spot and this engages on 2nd pass, stopping the truck at ~5" unless I gas it where it compresses a few more inches, typically decompressing in park.
EDIT: installed in its...
Hey folks,

Hey folks,
EDIT: This appears to be an IOS 18 issue that for whatever reason impacted my Tacoma and not CarPlay in other vehicles. Workable solution found via this thread - although I had to use the volume knob on the HU [as opposed to just maxing out on the iPhone].

Hey Folks,

Dummy OBD relocation kit:

So far I'm very happy with my DIY/prototype center channel speaker and will be building a second, cleaner looking revision this week. Note: I'm using a Beat-Sonic ENA-2T3 so I'm getting additional amplification on what I believe to be all speakers/channels.
In summary I'd say the sound is...
Hey folks, has anyone found ACC wiring under the rear seats or under the hood by chance?
Fuse panel, dash/head unit and rearview mirror areas are good to go however I have a couple devices that need to be hidden elsewhere;)
Update: I didn't bother with the rear seats and have hidden a couple...
UPDATE:
We have a Toyota head unit [and likely JBL amped] high level center channel and battery connected to the dock which in turn converts voltage and audio into to the removable JBL's 5 contact connector. I suspect the dock conversion IC is also performing high-to-low levelling on the...
EDIT:
ACC + negative-car-ground in the rear view mirror assembly.
Batt + ACC + negative car ground behind the head unit.
Batt +/- under the rear driver's side seat (and likewise under the hood)

Hey folks.. Any recommendations on reducing sag with OR or in my case TRD Pro rear suspension? Looking at the following air spring but curious what all my options are [without replacing the stock springs/shocks]. I'm not opposed to compromised off-road performance as I don't do much off-roading...
