I don't think it would be a problem. Just not a hot engine, and steer clear of the inverter area, and go low pressure where there are orange cables at the back of the engine. Otherwise it should be fine. No alternator to worry about at least. Have you looked into getting the ARK wheel well...

Outside of obvious degraders of mpg (i.e. lift kit)...fitting a tire for looks and disregarding the ply/weight will have a huge impact on mileage. When I replace my tires, I'll do everything possible to not go above a SL rated tire. Tire weight is super important. No tacoma needs 10 ply...
