Possibly true, although Mavericks have been maintaining their resale value pretty well, and the new Tacoma is a first with average reliability, so we both don't know how well it will retain its resale value.
But a). A Maverick is $20K less expensive that a Tacoma to begin with, and b). What I...
Oh, thank you. Now we know. ?
All cars have issues, but reliability ratings are based on how often they occur and how severe they are.
For instance, Consumer Reports rates hybrid Mavericks as "Well above average", whereas Tacomas have "Average" (two levels below Mavericks). I know it's very...
?
Wasn't my intention to offend anyone... Orange was my first choice for a Tacoma, too, but it's not available on a Limited trim. I was sort of okay with either blue or red, but only because there was nothing better.
Loving the Eruption Green on a Maverick though.
Well, maybe it's time to evolve? Other companies who had never promised direct ordering are doing it now. I am not saying "Toyota is a bad company", I am sharing my experience.
Thank you ? I sure will, no doubt about it. I am already enjoying the ordering/building process.
My point exactly.
I had been doing it for a year :) I even wrote a script that generates links for the capital of each of the 50 states :)
Too late - I don't want it anymore.
But thank you for the link, appreciate it!
But it doesn't have to be that way, that's my point. My Tesla Model 3 was built exactly to my specs, and so is my future Maverick. If they can do it, why can't Toyota? Life is too short to search for a new car matching what you want.
Thank you!
I am glad that you got what you wanted.
For me, a year after I placed a deposit, not only there is nothing that matches my build, but the worst part is that the dealership says they don't know when my configuration becomes available, if at all. Not knowing was the worst part.
In contrast...
That, and also to point out that Toyota has lost me as a customer party because of terrible ordering experience. Maybe someone at Toyota pays attention.
And also to let other people like myself, who wanted a small hybrid + AWD unibody pickup truck but had to settle for an overpriced, bulky...
Well, it IS a small unibody pickup truck.
Of course if I worked in construction or had to haul heavy load or tow heavy trailers, I wouldn't have considered a Maverick.
Totally.
Because when I checked Mavericks 2 years ago, they were offering either hybrid OR AWD.
Tacoma was the ONLY alternative, that's how I ended up putting a deposit for a Tacoma. Later on, they annonced unimpressive MPG figures, but by then, I was pretty much committed. So I was...
It's 20K cheaper than the Tacoma that I was waiting for. And I work from home, will be keeping it for a long time. Not really concerned about the resale value. Plus 40 mpg vs 24 mpg would offset whatever I might lose when I sell it.
And insurance is cheaper.
I almost bought an R1T, but then my wife and I decided that we need a gasoline truck to travel longer distances without having to stop for recharging.
The Stout has been rumored, yes, but I am not waiting another 3 years to maybe, just maybe, get one. Ford direct ordering is so great! Toyota...
1500 lbs payload, 4000 lbs towing.
Bed length is 4.6, so just 5 inches shorter than Tacoma.
But fuel economy is 40 mpg, compared to Tacoma's 24.
To each its own.
That's exactly what I need. Not a bulky heavy truck that spends power on hauling its own battery. I don't do offroading, I don't tow huge trailers. A small unibody pickup is ideal for me.
But no, Santa Cruz has no hybrid + AWD combination.
