No. Ignition in this vehicle is push button. Hence the assumption that the valet needs the fob. But I was wondering how others have handled a fob or key that doesn't operate the glovebox, but operates everything else for gaining entry and driving the vehicle.
Does anyone know if it's still possible to get a valet key for these newer vehicles? Or is one of the laser cut keys already a valet key?
To make sure we're all talking the same, historically, there's been a 3rd key (on my other Toyota its gray and doesn't have a fob) that unlocks the doors and...
Why not just dedicate one of your two trip counters to the tank? And reset that one each fill up. That's how I've always done it and I suspect how they are assuming you'll do it.
How often do you really need two other trip counters at the same time?
When I was shopping back end of June, there was one (1 !!) Limited Max in Bronze Oxide / Boulder in the entire USA allocation system (takes about 8 searches of specific zip codes on 500 mile radius to cover the entire country). I'm incredibly thankful that the single hit was a dealership more...
Here are a few photos of the "graphite" interior that is shipping on the Limited trims that are spec'd to Boulder. It's like a soft gray-white. It doesn't have the brown tones that I liked about the Boulder, but honestly what I wanted was NOT all black/dark-gray. So I'm happy.
This is a...
One more reason to ignore the dealer and your location when searching. Make the relationship after the sale in service if you want to. They don't know/don't care if you recently moved there or not.
This really sucks, but it looks like you can get your deposit back and likely resolve this...
@JustDSM
I hate to bring possible bad news, but I think your baseline is invalid. Unless you have it documented that the 85 octane met or exceed Research91 specs, your test baseline is faulty and the engine was forced to step down performance.
Per the EPA and every other source out there...
I forget your exact spec... but you could call this dealer in and see if this one would come sooner and isn't spoken for:

I forget what post someone decoded the temp VINs into, but if "B452"...
Can someone with acoustic knowledge/training help shed light on these graphs? Pulled them from a TacomaWorld post on with/without the resonator and trying to put it into context.
My layman view would appear to see that the resonator quiets the lower frequencies and works to make the sound curve...
OKAY... so starting this thread for those more informed or deeper into these weeds.
Yes, one can install an aftermarket (or the OEM) dash cam, but some of these trucks are equipped with upwards of a half a dozen cameras.
These all feed at any time into the screen on the dash... one could imagine...
The EZPass transponder is an RFID device. It's what's considered an "active RFID" in that when it registers an energy hit from the readers, it uses a build-in battery to "boost" it's ability to respond to the signal. Placing it anywhere on your windshield that doesn't have heavy blocking...
@JustDSM
Can you post a chart showing OEM 87(r91) vs OEM 91 vs OTT 91? that'll help highlight the step change of each decision/adjustment
(Saw you posted OEM 91 over in TacomaWorld)
I've very curious if the higher octane only translates to higher MPG, which could be more justifiable (palatable) than only for engine noise/knocking and a but of a HP/torque increase (for those of us that are not trying to tax the limited on HP or torque on a daily basis)
To those that have used it - share your experiences, learnings, insights, cautions, etc.
Why use it? What not to use it for? How many coats? Longevity? Permanent? Temporary?
Seeking a serious "explain it like I'm 5 years old" for insight into using and experimenting with this approach on...
The blackout package on my Limited was broken into two parts:
"Blackout package" $89 = front emblem + side scripts (the "Limited" lettering)... Dealer and I didn't know if it would include the tailgate letters or handles or mirror backs - Toyota's spec didn't say.
When the truck hit the dealer...
For those of us without as many gas options, and for clarity of the data; are these octnes on 10% ethanol blend? Or pure?
It's damn near impossible for me to find unblended in Maryland these days
Would love to see these tests - performance and sound/knock on 87 vs 91; 10% ethanol and pure...
