Only time will tell. My daily driver is a 1985 with a 4 cylinder 22RE engine. It is still running like clockwork after 300,000 miles and 38 years.
In the interim, I did buy a 4Runner with a V6 engine in it that lasted About 25 years and 160,000 miles.
In my case, the four-cylinder turned out...
I understand that Toyota produces what they can sell in mass, and for guys who prefer a 6' bed, options get fewer. I would love an Xtracab in a higher trim level. Either a sport, off road, or limited. Unfortunately, the only way I can get a 4WD Xtracab truck is the SR5 trim with leaf springs...
First off, I realize you can't actually build a Tacoma. You can merely configure your desired truck, and then see how close a dealer can match that from their allocations. However, that doesn't excuse the build page from being among the lamest in the industry. The photos don't match the...
Not everyone lives in an area which has lots of dealers. In Alaska we have two dealers (in an area 2/5 the size of the lower 48 states) and both are owned by Kendall. Can you say monopoly?
I contacted two dealers in Seattle which is about a 1700 mile drive and they will sell at MSRP to...
My current truck is an Xtracab with a 6’ bed and it’s my preferred configuration. The problem is, the model is always a basic trim.
I will probably bite the bullet and get a double cab with a 6’ bed that won’t fit in my garage. (I want an off road) The 5’ bed is useless to me.
I’m just about positive that is cooling vents for the hybrid battery on the side. If there is something under the seat, I didn’t notice that on the truck I saw.
It has always been my experience that I know more than the sales people. (Going back decades) ??
You will learn so much more in this forum than a showroom.
I’m the same way. The long bed barely fits in my garage but I find a 5’ bed just this side of useless. I’m my dream world they would offer a Trail Hunter Xtracab. I don’t need a back seat. (And I don’t want a stripped down SR)
Yea, I realize they are playing in enemy waters so to speak in Detroit. LOL The whole show was way smaller this year. I suspect the UAW strike had an impact. I didn't really expect a driving course, I just wish I could have got inside. I am buying one, it's just a matter of which model. I...
I went to the Detroit Auto show on Sunday. It is disappointing that Toyota only had two trucks on static display, and the Tacoma is locked.
Meanwhile, Jeep, Ford, Ram, an GM were running their vehicles through some crazy obstacle courses and allowing you to ride along.
It just makes it appear...
