2.) According to The Drive, around 75 percent of truck owners use their trucks for towing once per year or less and nearly 70 percent of truck owners go off-road only one time per year or less. So yes I think it's a fair estimate that probably only 5% of TRD Pro owners do Serious off-roading...
Thanks for the laugh.
I'll just say this...
It's easy to go on forums, put on your keyboard warrior hat, and nitpick the crap out of everything.
Tell you what, why don't you apply for Sheldon Brown's position and show us all how it's done.
1.) I don't care about "Marketing" I care about what something actually is.
2.) You're the 5%, not the 95%. Most people aren't doing what you are doing every Friday. And even with what you do every Friday, there are 6 other days of the week. Those 35's are not exactly ideal on the road for...
It all depends on your needs. Let's face it, most of us are not going to do extreme off-roading or baja racing. If that's your purpose then the ZR2 or RR probably will be a better choice. I mean the ZR2 has huge ground clearance and is just an awesome off-road truck.
But...did you look at the...
WTF is up with Motoman and his pricing comments?? First, he's talking about a $75K V8 TRD Pro, then he's saying "Minimum $65k for the Trail Hunter"
Whoa, whoa...slow down Motoman...not every one is rich!
I'm expecting the TRD Pro to be $55k and the TH just a tad more, maybe $60k tops in terms...
I'll Politely disagree on the "Yuck" part. IMHO, the Colorado is a good lucking truck, and the side profile of this new Tacoma looks really good too. Would show much better of course, with more aggressive wheels & tires. The TRD Pro, for example, looks fantastic
I don't know if it's just the pics, like maybe the lighting, res and angles, but not very flattering to my eyes.
Personally I really love it in white - Something about that original release / press vehicle, it just looks so good.
My 2 Cents, FWIW:
In terms of exterior appearance, I think both the TRD pro and ZR2 look AWESOME, with a slight edge going to the ZR2 while the Raptor looks good, but no where near as good as the other two.
In terms of both inside and out, my vote definitely goes to the TRD Pro, as I think it...
If you are used to Tacoma's I highly doubt you will be disappointed in the acceleration of the new Tacoma with the iForce Max.
My current truck, with a simple tune and E85 runs a 13.5 second 1/4 mile. And that's a FULL SIZE Supercrew F150 FX4, and I'm not concerned about the acceleration of the...
I've never been interested in a Taco before, simply because I needed more room, and they were just too underpowered for my personal taste.
When I heard about the new iForce Max (HUGE upgrade in power, and especially torque!) and on top of that, they were making them bigger it definitely got my...
I could be wrong, but that top part overhanging the roof along with the rest of it sticking above the roof line looks like it will cause quite a bit of drag on the highway and significantly impact MPG.
UPDATE: I sent follow-up to Joe Gallagher @ Holman and he replied this time but said the following:
You have to be in their zip code AND they are now charging $10k over MSRP on the TRD Pro's
Emailed him @ 7:23 this morning and never even mentioned where I was from just a friendly email stating I wanted to place a deposit on a 2024 Tacoma TRD Pro.
No reply from him.
It's amazing how hard it's been trying to get in line for a new Tacoma. It was way easier when I got bought my C8...
Thanks, I will give it a try but the MA dealers were actually closer to me (~2 hours away) than this NJ dealer (~3 hours away). But it's certainly worth a shot. I grew up in NJ, maybe that will persuade them. But it seems like people are prejudice against NY people or something. They just give...
Great video! You are e very down to earth, well spoken fella!
Totally agree on the power tail gate. Just as ridiculous as power folding seats on SUV's. Makes no sense, just adds weight, and another thing to go wrong AND slower than just doing it manually.
I can see it being a special order...
Well I didn't have very good luck today trying to place a deposit. For the record I am in NY (Long Island).
Sansone - Claimed they are not taking deposits. I even showed them a pic of the person on the list from this forum. They said that was absolutely false.
Lexington - Spoke to a Sales...
