I'm very early on in my planning but I don't want to have to get into a scenario where I have to idle my truck in generator mode for an extended period of time to run devices.
I'm planning on a separate battery bank plugged into the inverter and then plug my devices into that, itll do both 12...
Thats the funny part, Edmunds didn't do _any_ reliability testing and admits as much in the article. There is no methodology. They say it themselves, in the article, "according to the latest data from Consumer Reports and RepairPal."
repair pal hasn't had new data since 2019. Consumer reports...
LOL That's what this is all about? You wanted to rationalize your maverick as the "better decision"?
If you wanted a compact truck go enjoy it, you don't need to come troll here any more if you aren't actually interested in the tacoma.
Did you even read the article you posted? Edmunds didn't rate the reliability of these vehicles because they are brand new.
If you just wanna argue for funsies, reddit is that way. ---->
A quote from the article "Since these vehicles are brand-new, their reliability has yet to be rated"
so what is this article saying, exactly? It seems to directly contradict itself.
I looked at the "RepairPal" it claims to get information from and the latest information they show is from...
EPA tests are useless these days unless you are very aero.
Look at the test schedule: https://www.fueleconomy.gov/feg/fe_test_schedules.shtml
Highway doesn't get above 60 and it averages 48.3mph. Who averages that speed on the highway?
Oh, they do a high speed test. oh wait, thats useless...
woa that bumper looks pretty nice. Seems like its got cutouts for all the fancy sensors and maybe even factory fogs?
Wonder what the weight of it all is. That could be the winch bumper I go with.
I'm sure long range america will have something out sooner or later. Sure its annoying, but its not a deal breaker for me. Unless im overlanding im always within 25 miles of a gas station and if I'm overlanding I can take a jerry can.
Just because you dont get slapped in the face with it doesn't mean its not making a difference. This is why we do a dyno run to get some objective data.
dyno states otherwise https://www.tacoma4g.com/forum/threads/20-hp-14-lb-ft-torque-gain-from-91-octane-gas-on-tacoma-gas-engine-2-4-i-force-dyno-tested-by-stillen.8750/
Manual states 87 is minimum. Modern engines have no problem retarding the timing, but it's still a boosted higher compression engine so I run premium and i think you do get slightly more power.
EDIT
this talks a bit more about it, straight from the horses mouth...
You want to use 4Hi for low traction scenarios or you'll get binding as the diff tries to figure things out.
I try to keep it in 2H unless I need it. If the whole road is totally snowed/iced over, I'll go into 4H.
If its patchy, I'll stay in 2H. if it's raining, I stay in 2h, still too much...
This is the one I ordered: https://www.aliexpress.us/item/3256807342302031.html
Always gotta be a little careful with aliexpress but i've had really good (albeit slow shipping) experience before.
