    Removing the black piece from the hinge area and putting foam tape as indicated completely fixed mine.

    Well, ended up getting the shifter in tan (which matches my bolder interior pretty close) and it's great and easy to install. Also picked up the cerekote dial covers and those are pretty sweet too. Got a tour of the shop while I was there and his CNC setup is pretty sweet. I'll get some pics...
