With a turbo the most frequent injection of engine oil into the intake is from a damaged turbo seal. In the early 80s GM offered a 3.8 liter turbo in Pontiac models. At low mileage the turbo seals failed and the engine sucked oil enough to foul plugs and create a smoke trail that Navy destroyers...
Pass a gas station and turn around and the price has gone up .30 cents that fast. OKeep in mind the Iran conflict and Russian war have no real bearing on the artificial increase in fuel prices. It is merely speculation and profiteering that has increased prices that much. Just wait and the...
Our issue occurred while in route to the dealership for a paint and negligible mud guards issues.
we don’t have anything except standard IForce max/limited factory installed options. The truck is perfect and the lane departure and cruise were activated before rain began. No warning of lens...
I have a 25 limited hybrid and while driving in rain the entire system went haywire. No lighting or other events just moderate rain. The system wouldn’t sense lane lines, other vehicles curves and nothing I tried reset it for over 15 minutes. The dealer indicated it was unusual but would have to...
My 2011 had weather tech and if I backed up in turf the front tires pulled them off. Maybe a little too efficient until I trimmed them. Deer hunting turned into mud flap hunting but the distinctive noise was a great clue to the locations.
We had the chintzy OEM on our limited IForce Max and at 15-18 mph on gravel we had severe stone damage. The Toyota customer service is great as they are repainting the rear fenders and replacing the rear fender flares then installing a full set of the Canadian flaps that have a lot more...
My dealer in Iowa city had no clue about mud guards/flaps or part numbers until they got the information from this blog I forwarded to the salesman who sold our truck to us. They even omitted the flaps from my son’s 24 SR5 because there wasn’t a Toyota part number at the time so they rebated the...
Our 2025 limited is at the shop being repainted due to OEM mud guards that were insufficient to protect the doors and rear fender areas. It is being handled by Toyota Brand Engagement and we are driving a TRD Pro right now as a no charge rental.
the Toyota stock number for larger flaps is Toyota...
I’ve had many Fords from mavericks, courier, B2000, Tempo, pinto, Mustangs, Escape F100, Fairlane 500 etc.
I switched to Toyota trucks in 1993 and won’t go back. No problems with any Fords but the Tacomas and SR5 series are just better overall and more durable.
I wouldn’t switch just for fear...
Just got off the phone with Toyota customer engagement after filling a complaint. Our 25 limited has extreme stone damage due to the sub-standard front mud guards. We drive about 3/4 miles on gravel but stay below 20 mph and the truck has auto running boards. The dealer had all kinds of excuses...
