I just picked up my solar octane off-road last weekend. There were only two in this color in Georgia at the time and they had options I didn’t want, like the $699 ToyoGuard that almost every SET dealership seems to add, and they did not have the premium package, which I did want. I found my...
I live in Georgia, so I can relate. I don’t think it was mentioned here, yet, but most SET dealerships add the ToyoGuard Platinum crap for $699 to every Tacoma. I asked my local dealership if they could request a Tacoma without it and they said no. When I asked why, they wouldn’t provide any...
Lemon laws vary by state, but in Georgia (where I live) it doesn’t matter if you bought your new vehicle in another state. So long as you register your new vehicle in Georgia, you are covered.

Lots of good info and photos in this thread! Thanks everyone who has posted info so far.
With the 20% off sale going on right now at my local southeast dealership, I am considering order the OEM trifold tonneau cover (part # PT954-35240). I would also like to order the bed extender (part #...
I can’t speak to the leaf vs coil springs on the Tacoma specifically, as this was the first I’ve driven. I have owned/driven older Jeeps (XJs and YJs) with leaf springs and I can at least say that the new TRD Off-Road is more comfortable than those Jeeps were. ? But honestly, both my girlfriend...
Interesting! I didn’t realize dealerships rented vehicles. The next time I want to rent a specific vehicle, I’ll check there too. My employer has a partnership with Enterprise, so I get a nice discount on personal rentals. Thanks for the info.
The Enterprise in Woodstock, GA happened to have a 2024 Tacoma available. I was surprised they had one, let alone a TRD Off-Road (was expecting an SR5 for fleet). It only had 1100 miles when we picked it up. We drove it about 1200 miles and had it four days. I actually just dropped it off a...
I just rented a TRD Off-Road to drive from Atlanta, GA to Roanoke, VA and put over 1000 miles on the truck. I used this as an opportunity to try the truck before I buy one this Fall. I experienced virtually no turbo lag, even in Eco mode, and having that low-end torque was really nice. I...
I just rented a TRD Off-Road (5-foot bed) for four days to drive up to Virginia (from Atlanta). I put over 1000 miles on the truck. In Eco mode, I was able to achieve ~25 MPG at 65 MPH, and ~22 MPG at 80 MPH.
My local dealers have similar promotions running, just nothing for the new Tacoma, yet. I’m hoping that will change later this year, as inventory increases.
If you plan on keeping the 2024 hybrid for that long, don’t forget to factor in the cost of a battery replacement and hybrid powertrain components that can fail (i.e., added complexity)
The reality is that folks who are willing to pay the premium to have a hybrid Tacoma are doing so for reasons...
I use those refillable Tomcat rat bait stations from Home Depot. They work pretty well. Oddly enough, my Home Depot doesn’t sell the refills, but I can pick up a bucket of them at Lowe’s (Tomcat Bait Chunx Pail).
This is another reason I would like my truck to fit inside my garage.
I currently have AmFam and that’s how much they quoted me for a 2024 Tacoma TRD OR. I’m currently paying half that, but I’m also driving a 2014 Subaru Crosstrek. Obviously, a new Tacoma is going to cost more to insure, but I plan on shopping around as I get closer to purchasing my truck later...
This is exactly my line of thinking. With early production delays and the QC holds, dealership inventory near me is very low right now, especially if you want a TRD OR. I’m patient and will likely wait until the Fall, when inventory should be better and there might even be incentives for the...
That’s what I do now. I’m 5’11” and currently drive a 2014 CrossTrek, which is also a little tight behind the driver’s seat. About 95% of my driving is just me and maybe a front passenger. So, I’m not too concerned about the rear seat room in the new Tacoma, personally. I really want it to...
That happens often with my Subaru’s head unit whenever the outside temperature is above 70°F. I haven’t figured out the cause yet, but hopefully yours is a one-time issue/fluke.
