If the noise is still there with the belt off, its not the belt or any accessory.... Been a ford engine tech for 32 years, ide start there along with stethscoping the engine trying to isolate the noise. You may have an idiot tech, seems simple enough!!!! Take belt off, if noise is still there...

Generally bed stiffeners really help with loads but cant hurt under any circumstance... They look cool, why not.....
