More to the story, drove over to the big city today to run an errand when I got home I checked Carista and lo and behold the codes are now gone, yippee!
Sometimes I guess ya gotta believe the dealer, (OH NO!! Did really just say that??)
But verify with Google/AI:
I thought their reply just drive awhile was BS, I unplugged the battery for bit today to see if that would change anything but it didn’t. So, down to the basement to find my old OBD reader and it did not detect any problems. I opened a report with Carista to see what their comment might be.
Just completed the recall for the 12.3 dash 25TA08 notice.
Dealer had my truck for 3 hours.
After I got home I plugged in my Carista and had four codes (the Fix consisted of four software updates, hmm)
Called the dealer today and their response is to drive it awhile and if they don’t go away...
I have not had any issues with mine yet and I do have the interim recall notice.
I’m not going to let them take my dash apart to replace it, I will let them update firmware.
Took my 24 Sport in for the brake line replacement.
Checked my Carista OBD after arriving home and found a new fault in ABS.
I figured they did something that wasn’t in their repair instructions to trip that code?
I asked the asked the stealership and was told it was ok to reset it.
I just bought a Carista from Amazon for $29.99 and they are offering a year subscription for $30.. I figured the year option for the price was a good deal.
I had the “Airdamn” (intentionally spelled) for the first year or so.
After changing the oil myself that damn has to go. I don’t jack my trucks to change oil and that damn dam made it difficult to do oil changes.
No i havent noticed yet but will be checking, however my previous 2005 Tacoma OR i did notice an imbalance with the driver side being lower and the dealer replaced the left leave spring to correct the issue.
I went that route too, but not too long after the new replacements raised up just like the factory installed rails.
I just ordered and installed Charvonia rail gap eliminators and bed rail fits flush with no gaps!
My first truck was a 1990 Toyota pickup (PUP) and had the 22 r e injected no more carburetor!
It got replaced with my 2005 OR and last year replaced it with a 2024 Sport.
My 2005 OR had a similar sound and Toyota replaced the spiral cable inside the steering under warranty.
perhaps get your dealer or your guy check that for your issue.
I have not experienced anything yet knocking on wood but i had a 2005 TRD Off Road and the steering made noices like you described and iirc they replaced the spiral cable and i think it was a warranty recall.
Some have posted they cut up a pool noodle and stuffed it into voids under the scoop and some posted the Zekzoop hood insulation dampens the hood too.
I ordered and installed the Zekzoop insulation before I saw the noodle post but the Zekzoop stopped my fluttering hood 95% before the Zekzoop I...
