I leave it on. It's attached using 8 bolts in the T-slots (2 at the base of each of the vertical supports as circled in the pic below). The only situation I can think of where I'd want to remove anything would be needing to fit something in the bed that was taller than the crossbar nearest...

Where the mounting holes are on your skid plate should dictate where/what type of cross member you need. If you line everything up to check the fit you’ll be able to see where the section that attaches to the cross member is located. If the hole location is the same, perhaps someone more...

Interestingly enough, when I was deciding which tonneau cover to get it came down to the one you're getting and the Revolver. The main reason I opted against the canister-style was to keep the bed space open allowing for continued use of the Molle panels.
