Made a couple changes to the interior and very happy w/ both:
• OEM molle panel for the rear storage area (xtracab)
• Teton knob caps (much nicer than the “fake machine screws” IMO)
I’ve got the cover you’re asking about and unless Yakima has made a design change, it’s not compatible w/ that rack——the vertical side members taper inward toward the top which will prevent (block) the cover from rolling forward. My solution was to go with the Elevate rack since the uprights...
A soft touch “pad” for the upper interior door. The higher trims (Limited/Pro/TH) come equipped w/ this, but if you could produce a quality color-matched piece that would allow for the upper arm rest area to be like the lower arm rest my guess is it would be a popular item. Just my 2¢. Welcome...
If you “build” exactly what you want on the Toyota website and find a dealer willing to work with you, they can try to get an allocation for what you want. When I went through the process, I put down a $500 deposit (refundable), told them what I was looking for and waited. It took a few months...
^^^^ I’ve got this one. Pretty sure they’ve now got an updated version (F133N) that’s larger and drains faster. Been beyond satisfied w/ mine and if it drained any faster it’d reduce my quality beer drinking in the driveway with the truck time too much (and who’d want that ).
Correct. The long nipple version of the Fumoto valve allows for easy attachment of tubing w/ a small hose clamp (nothing special req'd----just whatever's available at local hardware store). I keep the tubing tucked up in the skid plate and simply pull it down through the opening you see in the...
+1 on the Miller Cat plate——makes oil changes an absolute breeze (the only snag I run into is my seeming inability to read/see the oil level on the dip stick  ).
Currently still on the OEMs, but when it’s time for new tires my plan is to go white letters out. I’m old enough to remember when it was a popular thing, but pretty sure most people on the uphill side of 40 would consider that a less than excellent decision—— probably doesn’t count as a mod...
No matching topper here, but it’s definitely been the right trim choice. Got mine for the utility/functionality fit rather than the looks, but really do think the XCs are well proportioned and look good. Since we didn’t need the back seats, but did need a 6’ bed, the xtracab made the most...
They're just the stock wheels that came w/ the truck.
The OR gets the machined outer ring and the PreRunner doesn't---- it's interesting they did it that way since most people seem to like the lower trim version better than the more expensive one (myself included).
edit: FWIW, I've read a few...
Nice truck. I’ve got an underground XC also (love it). My experience has been similar to yours in terms of rarely seeing anything other than DC 4G Tacomas. Every once in a while, but not many——guessing we’re lucky Toyota still offers them at all, since the market has shifted pretty much to...
There are several different ones available on Amazon and I have no idea which these are, but IIRC they were only around $20 so I got them figuring if I didn’t like them—— no prob and would just get the OEM. As it turned out, I like them a lot and kept them. They poke out more than the OEM, but...
FWIW, I’ve never disliked/had any problem w/ the in-front-of-the-shifter phone holder/charger in our trucks and actually think Toyota did a nice job re its design. . . .
but, there are times when having a more eye-level location would be nice.
My luck w/ any type of suction cup mount has...
Thanks. Don’t have link, but finding them shouldn’t be difficult at all—— they’re OEM, so just go direct through Toyota. Double check that you’ve got the part number for the 6-ft bed and you’ll be set.
